Not as bad as “Tarantula” though!

Ugh, “Carnival of Light” era Ride. After liking ’Birdman’, I found it really disappointing. They’d gone all retro 60s bore. (Actually the Creation cover was top.)

Far from my favourite Tull, but it’s still a corker.

37 years backwards from 1989 is 1952!

Ha. I’m okay, ta. It’s because I love “154” so much. So many great moments on it. 8 of the 18 are from it! 🤕

Sorry, that was a tad curt. It’s a good one, but I think if anything were to make the cut from “D&E” it would be the Notre Dame version of ‘Go Ahead’. As it stands, nothing from that album is in my 18.

Nope

Underrated this one. I think they played with Nirvana around this period.

The real Tull starts here, imho.

@michaelshallcross.bsky.social picked it too, if I remember correctly.

Top 5 harsh noise albums?! Go!

Funnily enough, @michaelshallcross.bsky.social and I *did* do a similar deep dive with #theFall several years ago. ‘DBL’ made the cut for me!

That’s t’Fall!

I love both these songs, and both Yes/Stone Roses. I like the cut of your gib, squire!

Oh wow! That’s great! Blur are 1 of my all time fave bands. Stupidly diverse! I’ve loved this b-side for so long, but (per the original post) recently started thinking that it really does anticipate blackgaze by a good few years. Even the rise and fall of the drone tones smacks of tremolo picking.

KISS-tastic cover

Have a good one mate

Brilliant tune though. Didn’t Mark Knopfler write it for Dire Straits originally?

That might be who I’m thinking of.

This may not have been Metallica actually. There’s this, but it’s not *that* bad.

Brave man to raise his head above the parapet on this one. Respect! ✊🏻 I am marginally inclined to agree with you (with caveats). I’ve just been working on my words, so as not be *completely* annihilated. I’ll quote your post @donomite.bsky.social when I’ve composed my feelings.

And I’m sure I’ve seen footage of someone from Metallica making quite cunty comments about Cobain/Nirvana when news of Cobain’s suicide was breaking in early April 1994.
comment in response to post
I think Axl’s wearing a Nirvana cap in the ‘Don’t Cry’ promo. I mean the whole idea of a Nirvana baseball cap would’ve presumably turned Cobain’s acidic stomach!?

Wait, the Mezzotint happened!?! 😱

They REALLY like it.

autechre! I might be in the minority of folk who have seen ZZ Top AND æ live. If at different events.
