Fade Into You? yeah, it's a bit of a thing. :) Everyone has these "okay I just discovered" moments, and every one of them is special. But that song? somehow a bit more special.

Imagine, if you will, the whole scene shifted to the year 1992 (33 years ago, the year Dirt was released). Two teens walk into a used record store. Vinyl is waning in popularity. Teen 1 buys "Mingus Ah Um" Teen 2: "Who is that?" Every bit as plausible of a conversation. and yes, you're old as Dirt

Well then. Darling, I couldn't have asked for a brighter ray of sunshine to go with my morning coffee. A wonderful morning to you as well. #MusicIsLife

The same thing happened to me one time in a cheese shop.

just go to your #feeds and add Indie Music in there. You'll get a bunch of stuff you can go through.

Hey I haven't seen the "password scraper quiz" in a while. Glad to see it's changed quite a bit from the old days. "Mothers Maiden Name" isn't question three any more.

I have a couple of those too. It's a fun feeling, innit?

Levellers are great! 15 Years was my jam for a while, back in the day.

They put on quite a performance at the closing ceremonies of the Paris Olympics last year.

Not jazz, but Glenn Gould. He used to drive audio engineers up the wall by doing this. I'm sure there's some of his voice in amongst the notes in The Goldberg Variations.

please also consider Canada's own Carole Pope as the most amazing pope ever.

I love the sound of a harpsichord, but it's a challenge to fit it into a modern ensemble. An upcoming single of ours, releasing June 13, features a harpsichord solo.

I will always call that album "Witha Teetha"

if you have a ceiling, and you can still see it, you have room for more vinyl

Seconded. The Spotify algorithm could easily tell whether someone enjoys Indie music, or even if they just passively tolerate it, and throw some indie music at them. Spotify doesn't do that. Indie musicians (like ourselves) are an inconvenience to them.

what, didn't you get a fresh pressing of Passengers Volume 1, or maybe that soundtrack to that video game that wasn't released before? /s

That guitar tone is gorgeous. also, never be ashamed of drinking boxed wine. It's a more efficient packaging system, and the wine is much less likely to go bad.

Such a great track, this one. Love the atmosphere. Who knew DD could build a track around a dulcimer?

good for him. You get FAR more money gigging and physical sales than you do from streaming. I still say that Fishbone probably got more money from merchandising than from anything else.

"What record-pressing plants do exist are increasingly given over to RSD releases. As one London shopkeeper told The Guardian a few years ago, that fact alone may be doing more harm than good: “...the economic impact for independent artists and labels is devastating.”

there will be plenty of copies of Passengers Volume 1, though

Mark! Perhaps you can help me with this: Are we Jazz enough for your list? Some of our songs probably aren't, but I think maybe a few count as jazz? It's a conundrum, really.
comment in response to post
Beg pardon, what on earth is this list and why is "Wall Of Death" not at the top of it?
