In this case the 'sophisticated cyberattack' was a senior Powerschools manager clicking on a phishing email they shouldn't have.

Today's noon phone in on @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social would have been an eye-opener for some people, as teachers talked about understaffing and normal things like no toilet paper or soap.

Difficult to advocate for #digitalskills in #education when much of the education sector vilifies the technology even as it depends on it for day to day operation. Being that cyber-literate educator is an uphill struggle.
Then we wonder why the education sector is so exposed to cyberattacks.

And yet most Ontarians couldn't be bothered to vote in the least democratic province in Canada, and 43% of those who did bother created another 4 years of this. #onpoli is broken.
19.5% (counting non voters) gave them a third term with a free hand to keep doing this.
