When agents show up with no warrant, no ID, and their faces covered, it’s not law and order. It’s something else entirely. And yes, the Constitution is supposed to protect against this:

Fourth Amendment - Protection against unreasonable searches and seizures - Requires a warrant based on probable cause. - Masked ICE agents detaining someone without a warrant or identifying themselves likely violates this protection.

Fifth & Fourteenth Amendments - Guarantee due process of law - The government cannot deprive someone of liberty without fair legal procedures. - Secret detentions with no due process? That’s unconstitutional.

This isn’t law and order. This is abduction masquerading as authority. Cause good trouble. Necessary trouble. Protecting yourself and your community must always come first.

Sixth Amendment - Right to know the charges and the accuser - People have the right to know who is arresting them and why. - Masked agents who don’t identify themselves are violating that right.

Being asked to resign by Senate colleagues — now THAT would‘ve been something.

This is fascism. It’s time to release Brad Lander. What happened today mirrors the chilling ICE arrests of Ras Baraka and Senator Alex Padilla. It’s deeply troubling, because this is exactly what authoritarianism looks like.

Brad Lander physically put his body on the line to protect a person being targeted by ICE goons, and this was the result. He’s an elected city official and mayoral candidate, but he’s also a good person. If every elected Dem showed that kind of bravery, we’d be in a much different position.

The cruelty. And self-sabotage: who will dare assist us in a future conflict?
