Fetterman: “Hunt for political assassin benefits Trump. Best to ignore shooter at large”

I think “mask” doesn’t do this justice in the alt text or the original post. This is a full Halloween mask, which is a disturbing visual beyond the already horrific details

I’m 98% sure those viral posts about a huge snake on the “loose” in Philly from a few weeks ago were just this guy’s albino boa with him out of frame

I see him maybe once a month on south during the summer. (He does have an Instagram but I can’t find the handle currently.) His snakes are remarkably chill and happy to be help by whomever or to go for a “walk.”

Not the main point by a wide margin, but I’m filing this away as further confirmation [bias] that everyone on linkedin who does that is a nutter

I can see why an engagement based platform would succeed at surfacing a diversity of content a la TikTok, but I’m curious if my experience of “different apps for different content” is also yours or if you’re seeing other federated platforms succeeding where Bsky isn’t
comment in response to

I can see some of that lack of content diversity, but from my experience, infosec content is doing well on mastodon, and there ain’t a non-chronological algorithm there by default, right? Would you say that mastodon is divergent from Bluesky in a diversity of content?

I’ve thought about this. You’re absolutely correct. Patron of the modern arts.

Clearly, the most likely next token was “rr.” Prediction of “r” would be archaic and not modern/“arrchaic.”

This will be the first thing rolled back in the beta. It’s always the case that the font is super thin/light or the transparency effects look super clear until the software actually gets into people’s hands and the feedback rolls in

But when someone sees an alert about their neighborhood, they will have questions, and when the warning doesn't materialize, they will have additional questions. I think that's natural and defensible. If you can point me to how to join the signal chat, I'll keep an eye on that for the future.
comment in response to
post
Please point me to it, and I will happily join/participate.
The questions were related to the precision of those intersections, and I didn't/don't care about how quickly someone responds to me, but there was an implied urgency in the alert. I'm not intending to impugn.

In case it’s not clear, my question(s) are coming from a concern that there is either more happening than is being reported on (papers, social media) or there is a lot of iffy information being passed around. The “raid” alerts from yesterday appear to have not been accurate, for example.

Are non-law enforcement employees within the IRS facilities here being asked to carry out immigration enforcement orders? Or are they being pulled into the DOGE/Palantir system?
comment in response to

The IRS also has actual criminal investors, so that may be what’s being discussed.

If this actually was a real threat, can you explain what changed?
Right now, it appears that @kha2e.bsky.social was right to question your assertion. And you couldn’t answer any of my questions about it either.
If your sources were correct, why have I seen no activity? Did anything happen?
comment in response to
post
At this point, I have to conclude that you or your sources were wrong
Assuming good intentions here, and I’m all for being safe over being sorry that information wasn’t shared, but it’s also true that the people in these neighborhoods aren’t served by alerts with no followup.
Did the plans change?

Has there been any update on this? I put up fliers in English, Vietnamese, Chinese and Spanish around the Washington Ave locations, but I’ve heard no reports about these locations today
comment in response to

I live in one of those neighborhoods. I am familiar. I am trying to understand the precision -- is it that these intersections are the center of a 5, 10 block or larger radius
