Part of the reason I hate the internet is how much time I spend arguing with strangers.

I'm going to assume Fizzbee, just because TLC has always been slow.
I'd be interested in seeing if Fizzbee is competitive with Apalache though.

I wish! It seems like when I have printer problems, it's almost always some weird driver issue, like a driver update comes along that's mostly compatible. I will say that I do have a 15 year old HP office printer that has been fine, if for no other reason it can use the generic postscript driver.

Congrats. I lost a fair amount of weight in the last two years and now I have to actively fight not to gain in back.

Ok now I know you’re lying. No one knows how printers work.

go be fair, iPhone has Pokémon Go and apps that fart.

Sample size of one, but I drink more Diet Coke than anyone I know, around a gallon a day for almost twenty years, and thus far I haven’t gotten cancer.
I find it funny that people would try warning me about aspartame, *while drinking their beer*. Alcohol is a known carcinogen!

iPhones released around the time that the DS was mainstream had headphone jacks, go be fair.

I mean, not entirely sure how you're applying "data" to this? This really isn't a data science issue, I'm not running a ANOVA on pardon history.
"Nuance" is a word that people like to throw around a lot, like it actually means something. I can apply nuance to pretty much anything.

I guess, I just never really got into twitter, so when all the posts are comparing Bluesky to twitter it just kind of goes over my head.
comment in response to

I guess agree to disagree; I think pardoning family members is clearly not what the pardon rule was intended for.
comment in response to
post
…because I think it’s hypocritical to point out Trumps abuse of power and not Bidens?
comment in response to
post
No, you’re actually not going by my “words”, you’re going by an assumption that I am some Fox News moron trying to justify Trumps actions, which I am not.
comment in response to
post
I feel like you’re trying to paint me as some MAGA idiot.
I hate Trump, he’s a stupid idiot, I just don’t think Biden pardoning his own son is good. I am sorry I don’t fit into the simplified mold that you’ve trained yourself for.
comment in response to

I feel like you’re assuming a lot about me. I think Trump is a big stupid idiot. I am sad he won the election.
I am not sure how my arguments are “disingenuous”, since I do genuinely believe them. You’re obviously free to think they’re dumb though.

I didn’t bring up J6ers so I do not know where that came from.
Biden campaigned on the fact that he wouldn’t pardon Hunter.
comment in response to
post
I don’t really see how I’m “wrong”. I think it’s an abuse of power to pardon family members. I think pointing out that Trump being worse is somehow justification is dumb.
Those are just opinions, how am I “wrong”?
comment in response to
post
Isn’t this just a “whataboutism”? Yeah Trump did worse shit, but that pays no bearing on whether Biden did something wrong.
“Yeah I killed that guy Judge, but look how many people Ted Bundy killed!!!”
comment in response to
post
Ugh. I hate the MAGA idiots but can we stop the outright rallying calls for eugenics?
comment in response to
post
Yeah, no, it’s an abuse of power. If Trump pardoned his dipshit kids he would claim it’s about stopping a witch-hunt and we would (correctly) point it out.
comment in response to
post
And the whataboutisms aren’t a good rebuttal. Just because Trump was worse pays no bearing to whether or not Biden did something wrong.
comment in response to
post
I think it makes us hypocritical if we’re going to call out Trump’s abuse of power and not anyone else’s.

I like to read on the train on my way to and from work. It’s something I have to do anyway and so it doesn’t require me to carve out extra time.
Audiobooks are good if you drive to work.

What I said is objectively correct. Most things in history are depressing. The Brit’s have a whole museum in London showing off all the stuff they stole, for example, and downplaying the negative effects of colonialism.
Again, not saying it’s right. Most people secularize thanksgiving.
comment in response to
post
I did no such thing. You said you were confused. I explained the “how” of it. I didn’t say it was right.
I didn’t “deny” or “erase” it, and I don’t dispute any of atrocities committed against the indigenous Americans, past or present.
comment in response to
post
Yeah, no, this is dumb and hypocritical. I think Trump is a big dumb moron, but Biden pardoning his own son sets a very bad precedent.
If the orange idiot pardoned his stupid kids, we would (correctly) say that this is bullshit.
comment in response to
post
How is it false? What did I say that was incorrect?
Most Christian holidays have the baggage of historical Christianity associated with it. Pretty much every big country has its share of controversy and atrocities in their history.
I’m not saying it’s right, I just addressed your confusion.
comment in response to
post
Fucking bullshit. I hate Trump as much as the next guy but Biden pardoning family members sets a very bad precedent.
comment in response to
post
I mean, most things have depressing origins if you look far back enough. Most people celebrate a more secularized “eat turkey with family” version.
comment in response to

This is making the rounds a lot. I think it’s bad. It’s a thinly-veiled call for violence. Assholes like Trump are going to use shit like this to justify “upping security against Antifa”
comment in response to
post
Yeah I played with that. It’s definitely a fun demo.
comment in response to
post
Pictures like this are what fascists will use to justify “increasing security”
comment in response to
post
I mean, no, there are cases where fighting against stuff is fine, and images like this survive on this kind of plausible deniability.
I am suggesting that we act like grownups and call a spade a spade.
comment in response to
post
Isn’t this just what dipshits like Nick Fuentes do? They say something horrible, and when called out they say “LOL ITS JUST A JOKE LEARN TO TAKE A JOKE LIBTARDS!!”.
Calling for violence is bad.
comment in response to
post
I don’t like Twitter but, umm, what’s wrong with Fight Club? Isn’t the point of Fight Club about how demagogues rise to power?
comment in response to
post
This is just a blanket endorsement for violence while pretending to be a joke. I don’t like Trump or Conservatives either, but this is Nick Fuentes shit.
comment in response to
post
I don’t like conservatives or Trump or anything adjacent, but isn’t this transparently calling for violence while pretending it’s just a joke?
comment in response to
post
He’s still using “pedo” like a grade school insult? That’s so fucking lame.
comment in response to
post
I don’t really know what the point was? I never disputed I was an asshole. He might be “morally superior” to me, but that doesn’t imply he’s not a dumbass if he voted for Trump.
comment in response to
post
…what the fuck are you talking about? The Supreme Court isn’t about passing stuff into laws. It’s about determining constitutionality. The thing I was referring to that ruled that Trump isn’t liable for the January 6 stuff because it was an “official” act.
comment in response to
post
At that point the Supreme Court hadn’t ruled that the president can label anything otherwise “illegal” as “official” and then get away with it.
comment in response to
post
Nope, I just chose to not vote for the guy that would make people think I am stupid.
comment in response to
post
No, the people who voted for the orange idiot might be nicer better people than me, they are also stupid.
