Trump administration considers suspending habeas corpus. This would deny people the legal right to challenge one’s detention. Arbitrary detention of opponents would be normalised. No different from dictatorships. Rule of law? Respect for human rights?

Just got back from visiting family in #Denmark. All I can say is it makes the UK look like the small-minded, underfunded crummy place it is. We do need to return to the 1960’s insofar as we need to return to proper Keynesianism.

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Devastating analysis of Reeves’ policies from someone who can add up.

Years ago I did a kind of collage on one of my walls. Here’s a detail. I always thought she was the most preposterous character.

There’s no “flippin” or “blimey” in the world of autocorrect. I’m feeling awfully authentic darling.

Hey @andrewhickey.500songs.com , thank you for your latest, very touching, magnum opus. A bit personal as I used to hang out with Billy Hinsche. On new years 1984 I asked him how the holiday period had been. That was when I realised he was in the Beach Boys. ❤️ 💔

Golly gumdrops the story of Huddie William Ledbetter “Leadbelly” as told across several episodes of his podcast by Andrew Hickey is gut wrenching and amazing. It’d make a great movie. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...

UK ministers are claiming ill health is over-medicalised in the UK. It isn’t. It’s under-politicised instead. It’s neoliberalism that is making us ill, but they refuse to recognise that fact. youtu.be/MIdpSs5HlaU?...

Every week, I speak to people in my constituency struggling with mental health. Many are worried about feeding their kids, paying the rent or losing benefits. Britain's mental health crisis is the result of political choices. This government is choosing to push more people into despair.

Been talking to some Tesla people and watching vids where that community is starting to quietly mutter that maybe Elon should leave the company... Quite a turn around from people who would have defended him to the end only a year ago. Stock prices are short term. Brand damage isn't.

One of the reasons electricity is so expensive in the UK is because the national grid was privatised and has one of the highest profit margins of any business. Nationalise it and reverse the hideous Tory legacy.

Spotted this morning. Love it.
