In the next non-stupid administration, I volunteer to be a member of the Council of Political Advisers, and I will play the role of Kissinger of Area Studies

I say let them all cook. AOC can bring the same energy and style, though.

This is the way. Sneetches their symbols and they lose all their power

I understand the reasoning, and as a general matter I am *atrocious* at titles, so my views shouldn't be taken as Gospel. But the PNAS-style title-as-affirmation always feels a little bloodless and clinical to me.
@maximananyev.bsky.social's title meme is still the best. I still LOL at "Bees"

At the same time, an opponent of the current administration should still hammer home these poll results, loudly and publicly, because there *are* marginal GOP districts and annoyed swing voters might like knowing that their opposition to current policies is widely shared among all Americans 2/2

I think you've reasoned through the implications of presidentialism with majoritarian legislative elections very well. MTG doesn't need to win over the US electorate, only her own district, and she's probably safe there. Aggregate that up and here we are. 1/2

I've grown to be a type 1 (X and Y) titler myself.

probably "greatest" is more accurate than "best," tbh. Plus, no other album so perfectly encapsulates the mindset of its composer: undiagnosed mental illness in the bleak Southern California sunshine next to the freeway

Why would anyone deep fry compressed noodle mash when you can feast on all that, uh, herring

If there's one thing that my thrifty parents taught me, it's don't fill up on water crackers. There's more value in the stilton

the one time they allowed me to attend high table at St. Johns, but were one dessert short (mine), and brought out the secret stilton without explaining that I was not supposed to eat the whole thing... but that's on them

No shade thrown on the tasty dishes (my scale is ordinal, not absolute!) I just think it's plainly obvious that as colonizer cuisines go, Ottoman and Japanese truly dominate

in 2025 I feel that it is safe for me to rank the cuisines of the colonizers, and I put it in bottom tercile but not bottom (that's Dutch, the only cuisine I know that deep fries gravy balls)

I refuse to recognize English sovereignty over fish and chips! Sausages and tongue I will acknowledge. Revised ranking:
Yorkshire burrito > pie and mash > potted tongue > sausages > jellied eels > Wigan kebab > all other pale-colored and/or canned English food
