Also Man Utd paying big money for peak age players when they should be rebuilding with younger guys. Mbuemo would have made more sense for us in terms of the system and the fact we have a window to win things in next 2 years while Isak, Bruno etc are here and at their peaks

It's both a good price and also quite steep for a guy with one year left on his contract?

This would be a great window. Would have to loan out Bardghi as he needs some real minutes having missed the whole of this
comment in response to post
Hopefully the rest means he has at least 60mins of running in him

Almost certainly more than Wilson

Just incredible that a club facing a long rebuild would choose to throw away a 20yr old who is good now and potentially great in 2-3yrs. And is homegrown. He would be top of my keep list from the current squad.

Very harsh on Tino. Don't get the point of bringing Walker, he's surely not going to be in the squad end of next year.

I like him. Has a directness which is good. Just worry that he would be overpriced. Also ideally we would bring in a left footer to play on the right, think Tino would be more effective with someone ahead of him gutting inside so he can overlap.

Would have to be a real battering given Chelsea would also need to lose.

Is it even still possible for us to finish in the Conference League given Chelsea and Forest play each other?

Do people who vote Conservative actually want insurgency? Seems like an important question to ask.

It's literally the 'this is fine' meme. That's the strategy.

Saw this one out of context and thought this was another HBO Harry Potter thread...

You could really mess with Man Utd fans by announcing... 'We will build the Wembley of the North... In Leeds'

The year is 2080 and AI Trump is running for his 30th term as President... Interesting possibility for genuine necrocracies

Isn't what they are mainly interested in mainly just owning the libs?

An entire team, and their families, if you actually want to get them all to come.

Also the focus always seems to be on 'world leading scientists' etc. science is a team game. We need early career researchers as well.

The fact that it feels more right wing on the economy than it is in reality is partly because of a conscious decision not to trumpet the extra £ for public services or the employment rights package though

Also think people overestimate how much 'we don't want to do X, but the fiscal situation demands it' sounds responsible and underestimate how much it sounds weak and like the govt isn't in control. Why would you vote for a govt that is constantly doing things it says it doesn't want to do?

Yeah this is bang on. You are supposed to spend the start of your term setting the agenda and making others react to you. If you start off reacting to the polls, you end up running in circles.

Yeah definitely. Also the model of selling your academy players for £20m each only works if you don't then spend £50m on a replacement who is worse.
comment in response to post
Would be interesting to see this broken down. Ie Chelsea seem to be producing a high volume of guys they sell for between £10-30m. More than half of Villa's total revenue is Grealish.

Good point!

Even 7th probably gets Europa if City or Villa win the FA Cup
comment in response to post
Reflects the fact that Spurs have a much easier semi final
comment in response to post
Even the one 'good sale' (Lewis Hall) doesn't actually look so great at this point.
comment in response to post
Yeah objective is to have a bench full of players we are excited to watch. And some different kinds of options. If we have Europe and can't rotate then everyone will break again.
comment in response to post
Like the fact that at LB he has the option to go either way. But now he can use his left foot he should be able to do that at RB too. Think playing behind a winger who wants to cut in is better for him than playing behind Murphy. We need a left footed RW option for next season.

That early period without a proper DoF... Was pretty good?
comment in response to post
World(s), surely.
comment in response to post
Bit old and expensive for us? Expected us mainly to go for younger players except maybe at RCB or RW where we need starters

And combine this with house prices. Used to be a lot of jobs which were fun and paid you enough to buy a nice house. Now both less fun and you need to earn so much more for any kind of property ownership in a city

If you are changing leader in office, it's normally because you are facing defeat. In that circumstance it is wild to hand the choice over the direction to a group of wildly unrepresentative members. At least MPs have some form of vested interest in the outcome in that circumstance
