I’m so sick of writing emails where I beg for a way to get across the road to the grocery store safely without being hit by a driver in the crosswalk, or beg for a way ride my bike to work safely without being hit by a driver along the way.

cats don't obey in advance and no one else should, either

Wearing my @tomflood.bsky.social T-shirt until 9 am Tuesday. #bikehfx

as I walk my bike on the sidewalk up the empty four lane Lacewood Drive, summing up our priorities and conditions for those who dare to not drive. This sign has been left this way for weeks (reported) The speed sign constantly flashes red for speeding drivers

100% the Province are in on this. www.halifaxexaminer.ca/dismantling-...

Halisky, for those of you who don’t bike but are supportive of bike lanes, are you writing to your councillors? Could you drop some talking points here to share with others who might want to do the same? 👇

A reminder to my #BikeHFX comrades that our mayor and many of our councillors have been dragging their heels on providing a safe and protected bicycle network for over a quarter of a century. What an embarrassment. Thankfully we do have a few decent ones for which I am grateful. #ZeroVisionHFX

I warned you. It's long been evident that Andy Fillmore will put power above principle and even his own beliefs.

For the last week I’ve been handing out respirators to friends in preparation for the wildfire smoke. Many rolled their eyes but took them anyways, and today they’re thanking me! This is the thing about disabled people, we have to prepare. We have contingencies. We can help.

Specifically, residents of districts 1, 3, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16 These are the likely swing votes. If you live in those districts, it is doubly important that you write/call your councillor. They are the likely swing votes. Tell your neighbors, organize, tell more neighbors to write more emails.

Happy to see The Weather Network include N95’s in their recommedations in the Special Air Quality Alert 😷👍🏼

I know we're all slam dunking on our dumbass mayor but if you don't show up in your councillors inbox, voice-mail *and* meetings to (civilly) dunk just as hard there, nothing will change.

response from my councillor who will oppose this: "It would be helpful if you and your allies could forward emails supporting bike lanes/multi-use trails to Mayor and Council via the Clerk’s Office at [email protected] today and Monday" please do so.

Makes us look like weaklings. Brutal.

This is straight up bullshit, I'm going to organize a citizens filibuster, enough is enough this bullshit must end. Details will be posted to the legal road users discord as plans firm up legalroadusers.ca

The minimum grid was scheduled to be completed 4 years ago and is still just patchwork. We don't even have 2 intersecting protected bike lanes. The city has been dragging it's ass for years, of course we're not meeting IMP goals

And to think, Canada could have been a part of this well-run real grown-up country for the low-low price of $61-billion for a missile defence system that won't work

The utter stupidity of privatizing #CanadaPost should be obvious. But the right keeps proposing this toxic idea, over and over again. #RoyalMail, the UK’s 500 year old postal service, was privatized and OF COURSE, was sold to a billionaire & service tanked. At what point will this idiocy end?

Bill C-2 has enormous implications for the privacy of Canadians. Buried toward the end is a law enforcement wish list that includes warrantless disclosure of information about Internet subscribers and unprecedented access to Internet provider networks. bsky.app/profile/mgei...

Marc Garneau served this country with determination and dignity. I was honoured to serve in Parliament with him. He represented the best of public service. He flew to space, now it is time to fly to the angels.

Marc Garneau, the first Canadian to fly into space, has died. He flew into space three times from 1984 to 2000. He spent 29 days, 2 hours and 1 minute in space. Garneau later served in Parliament from 2008 to 2023.

Pressed for a commitment that Nova Scotia Power will not ask ratepayers to pay any portion of the cost associated with this debacle, president Peter Gregg “did not provide that assurance.” By @dartjenhen.bsky.social

Parents, it’s your job to support your children!! You don’t get to pick their spouses or their future! All they ever want from you is love and acceptance.

CBC coverage on starving people killed by Israeli soldiers. Lead: Israel denies it shot starving people. Top quote:IDF media dude-not true, just trying to help. etc. Journalist: "Serious" allegations but Israel says no. Aid worker quote framed as more "allegations" Just another day in the genocide.

It’s Perfectly Unclear: a NEIPA from Half Cocked Brewing Co in North Grant, Antigonish County, NS. 6.2% ABV is deceptively smooth; also juicy and tropical. And smooth. Would definitely try another.

Needs more bollards.
