Pandora (For Cindy) might just be the most heavenly song I've ever heard. I don't know how Liz Fraser does any of *that*, but I'm so grateful she can and does ❤️🎶

Pink Floyd are perhaps best known for and associated with guitar solos and making concept albums. But their lyrics are on another level, and across so many facets of life. 'Wearing The Inside Out' might just be the most I've ever related to a song. 🧵 #MusicThread #PinkFloyd

Happy 35th birthday to Sonic Youth's 'Goo', released #OnThisDay in 1990. The follow up to the seminal 'Daydream Nation', Sonic Youth somehow managed to get even better while never threatening to alienate their core audience. 🧵 #MusicThread #MusicSky #SonicYouth #OTD

#ArtistFave90s Suede 3 💿 Sci-Fi Lullabies 🎶 Whipsnade The first side of Sci-Fi Lullabies is up there with any album proper for quality. Killing Of A Flash Boy gets more praise, but as ever with 90s Suede, there's just something so irresistible about the sound and vibe here.

#Top20RoxyMusic 4 💿 For Your Pleasure 🎶 Strictly Confidential Back to early Roxy and in truth, there's very little between my top four. On another day, this brooding masterpiece could be my favourite. The way it builds without ever fully exploding is heaven to my ears.

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 274/365 🗣️ Tom Waits 💿 Closing Time Yes I've gone right back to the very start. I'm thinking that might be the best decision I've made in a long time. It's a fair distance away from Rain Dogs, but blow me down if this isn't exactly my thing.

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 273/365 🗣️ Cocteau Twins 💿 Treasure If Garlands was good, and Head Over Heels made me, well, just that, then I don't think even such a mystical and prized title can summise my joy at this record. It might just be my favourite discovery of 2025.

#ArtistFave90s Suede 4 💿 Dog Man Star 🎶 The Wild Ones An obvious choice, and with good reason. One of Suede's finest singles, and the entire band operating at another level here. Never fails to stir up emotions when I listen to it, which is a lot!

#Top20RoxyMusic 5 💿 Avalon 🎶 Take A Chance With Me I absolutely love Roxy Music's final album, so only having two choices from it in my list seems ridiculous. But they are both in the top 5, and Take A Chance With Me is just peak Roxy MK2. Sophisticated and gorgeous.

Being influenced by, amongst others, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, is certainly not unique to Karl Wallinger. But on World Party's second album 'Goodbye Jumbo', Wallinger wears those influences on his sleeve, and then some. It never pales in comparison. 🧵 #MusicThread #MusicSky

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 272/365 🗣️ Tom Waits 💿 Rain Dogs I listened to this masterpiece for the first time in late April. I didn't post about it because, well, what is there even to say? It's just amazing at what it is, and a tour de force in concept storytelling...

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 271/365 🗣️ Cocteau Twins 💿 Head Over Heels Savour it. Savour it. Savour it. I've shown restraint recently by not listening to as much new-to-me music (almost two per day this year), but Cocteau Twins are making it much more difficult...

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 270/365 🗣️ Porcupine Tree 💿 Closure/Continuation 13 years after their previous album, Porcupine Tree returned with a record that felt too much like more of the same. For a band who changed styles and output so often, it's anti-climactic...
