The Senate did not convict. Susan Collins, who voted to acquit, famously said "he learned his lesson" from the impeachment.

The 1st impeachment (Dec 2019) for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress was the original sin. He threatened to withhold foreign aid until Zelensky promised to investigate Hunter Biden, and obstructed the inquiry by telling his administration to ignore subpoenas for documents and testimony.

Provincial Premiers removed U.S. alcohol in government controlled liquor stores as part of Canada's response to the US tariffs. Canada's retaliatory tariffs are on specific US products to elicit pressure to remove the tariffs while having minimum impact to Canadians as alternatives are available.

He's very good. His considerable negotiation and economic credentials are reasons he was elected.

Also Canadian here. 🇨🇦 My family and friends have cancelled trips and have no plans to visit. The revenue loss from the lack of Canadian tourists is starting to show in data collected by US governors. They lack the appreciation that this will be a long-term reality.
comment in response to post
NY's governor reported a 7% drop in sales tax revenue from the loss of Canadian tourists. Most US leaders don't appreciate that this travel boycott could last for 4 years.

Yes and their offer to upgrade the thermostat for $150.

The Oilers have been all gas, no brakes this whole series. Down 3-1 going into the 3rd period, they could still win the game. The Jets should watch the Oilers and emulate their level of intensity.
comment in response to post
The Oilers are ferocious and playing at an intensity level that makes me believe they will win, even down 3-1 going into the 3rd. This intensity level is what is missing in the Jets' last 2 games.

The Oilers are playing so ferociously that even down 3-1 going into the 3rd period, I believed they could win. They have been all-gas-no-brakes in every game in this series.

A friend of mine in WI renewed her US passport online, including submitting her own photo. The new passport arrived 5 days later.

Tie Helle to the net. He's been too casual around the net in this game.

He's not running again due to geographical changes to his riding but he's a Canadian treasure and there have been calls for him to lead the NDP...

Once you apply, Elections Canada will automatically send everyone on the International Elector's Register a ballot, so worth registering so your ballot for the next election isn't delayed. 🙂🇨🇦
comment in response to post
The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that you have a right by birth to vote in Federal elections. To be on the International Register of Electors, you must: - be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old on polling day - be living outside Canada - have lived in Canada at some point in your life

Our household proudly voted for you, PM Carney! 🇨🇦

Fantastic encouragement! As a Canadian expat, you are eligible to vote as well! 🇨🇦 A helpful link: www.elections.ca/content.aspx...

Voters are hyper aware that splitting the vote between the Liberals and the NDP could lead to PP being PM.

That's what Carney remarked in his press conference today. He also said to the reporter that her G&M colleague should check their sources - a photo isn't a meeting.

I don't understand why all provinces west of ON are considered western provinces. I personally don't like MB being lumped in with SK in surveys either. I lived in BC for a time and no one considered SK and MB "western Canada."

Manitoba is literally central Canada. Succession has never crossed our lips. We tossed out the hyper-partisan Conservative Premier and now have one of the best Premiers in the country. I want that for our neighbours to the west.

People are increasingly paying attention, so keep calling it out!!

The US does not fulfill its CUSMA tariff-free quota for cheese and butter, so they don't incur the higher level tariffs she is quoting.

"In sync with." In the US, this repugnant ideology is taking devastating blows to science, academic freedom, free speech, due process, social safety nets, public safety, the public service, democratic institutions, and immigration. Poilievre wants to emulate this in Canada? Absolutely not!

When you threaten to annex a country, their citizens might not want to spend their tourism dollars in your country. Exhibit A: onemileatatime.com/news/airline...
