Yeah, at its core, the decision that the mythical movie-to-comic converts couldn’t deal with Nick Fury being white in the comics is pretty condescending. But also, the actual Samuel L Fury was right there and not doing anything. Don’t need some secret son, just kick Ult Fury thru a portal.

Synergy with media adaptations of characters can have good and constructive effects on the comics version. That being said the influence of the MCU on the comics has almost universally been negative.

Absolutely this. We’re a long way past nice stuff like the Batcave and Jimmy Olsen being bolted onto less fully formed series. Marvel constantly trend chasing its own adaptations is just embarrassing, especially all the hoops they jumped thru to have a black Nick Fury (instead of just porting Ult NF
