So, first and foremost is probably pathos; you communicate feeling so clearly with your art it's hard not to empathize. Your work always feels super warm and nostalgic, too, giving a wonderful undercurrent of comfy vibes that I love. Your art wears its heart on its sleeve, when so much hides it.

I didn't know that, clearly they were destined to be friends! Was that something I missed in the pitch deck, or is it secret lore freshly unveiled?

It's fun to experience, too!

I definitely think it's very solid; you seem to rely heavily on an atmosphere constructed with all the additional elements available to visual novels, but I think that's a natural and respectable method for the medium.

Lmao apparently there's a character limit on the second application question that returns a "server's requirements have changed" error if you go over.

Recommended by a friend as a good place to learn how to do art.

Sure, there's that, but I more meant things like the dungeons pretty much all being two-lane highways, or how all the characters tend to have less mechanical depth than, say, the standard for the Rance games. It's not about difficulty tuning so much as... exploration and experimentation potential?
comment in response to
post
Heck, that goes top to bottom, too; not just sprites and writing, but even things like dungeon design and character combat stats. The mid-battle repositioning is the only thing that really felt... particularly noteworthy?
comment in response to

There's a lot of pieces that are done really well, but there's a lack of good connective tissue and details to tie it all together; an overall lack of elaboration or depth, I think.

You've dohna dohna done it, I applaud you. But yeah, that's what I'm noticing too, mostly; there's a bunch of flash and polish, but in a lot of ways it feels like... like it was done pro forma by people really good at the technical aspects? It's very paint-by-numbers, with little deviation.

iirc at bond 5 she's directly comparing your importance to her to Baobhan Sith's. Other than that line, though, yeah, she's pretty cold. It's absolutely more romantic and compelling to have a relationship that grows and solidifies rather than just some sort of love on sight, for sure.

Yeah, tbh, anyone who finishes a book deserves mad props. No one's going to do it without flaws, either; anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.

Yeah, the variety and the love put into exploring it are part of why I can't ever let go of it; I feel like a lot of people come in from one work and get upset that the rest of the franchise isn't the same.

yeah that's fair

Just 'cause you've found out where it came from may be questionable doesn't make the inspiration you carried from it any less.
