Not exactly true. Federalist Society Garland protected Trump through feigned gross incompetence.

I'm not mad at all. I simply think your phrasing implies blame in a no-win situation where blame isn't warranted. Especially considering the right is going off the deep end politicizing and casting aspersions and blame. Explaining the "why" is also part of journalism.

I'm an emergency services worker. We aren't taught to encourage pointless impotent rage at the injustice of the universe. We are taught to compartmentalize your emotions so they don't cloud your judgment. People don't call us to stand there and cry with them, they call us to put out the damn fire.

Bah. Not a tweet. Still have to break that stupid habit.

Someone having an opinion you don't like or a point that you can't be bothered to understand doesn't make them a troll. I'm tired of ragebait masquerading as journalism. There were many other ways this could've been phrased that wouldn't have made it come off like ragebait.

If the intent were simply to communicate an already-expected outcome, why is the tweet to which I responded phrased the way that it is? Feels like it's looking to stir up angry reactions from people who lack the critical thinking skills to realize that garden hoses aren't a priority over hydrants.

Ah yes, the age-old journalism standby of writing about something everyone expects to happen. "Man turns on light switch during power outage to find only darkness" is a very common thing to report on, no?
comment in response to post
I guess people just expect magical infinite water pressure when every working hydrant in the area is probably running full blast? Good lord.

"stand around and let a bunch of terrorists take over the Capitol and try to assassinate the VP and overthrow the government" was an illegal order too and they happily obeyed.

You have way more faith in the American justice system than (IMO) you should.

They didn't do anything that hasn't been done for years. W. E. B. Du Bois wrote a whole article in The Nation in 1956 about how he wasn't voting because it made no difference because it was just two faces of the same party. This assertion was nothing new in 1992. libcom.org/article/why-...

I think blaming the Simpsons is a little much...

We don't even have the balls to call our own coup attempt a coup. Why would we expect anything different for SK?

Maybe they should've eaten less avocado toast and then they could've afforded to do this work using the enormous profits that they already make.
comment in response to post
Frankly, it wouldn't matter. I think it's pretty evident at this point that the masses are impervious to facts, or objective reality, or anything remotely resembling critical thinking and independent thought.
comment in response to post
lol no they won't. They didn't bear the blame for the severity of the pandemic, or the people that died because of their incompetence, or the economy they wrecked with their shortsightedness, and they won't for this either.

Crapo is the perfect surname for this guy.

Oh, is the age of consent really low there?

Yeah that's what happens when you make the press a profit-seeking enterprise...

Guess we're just openly admitting to breaking the law now
comment in response to post
Ah yes, good people always say they want to have other people murdered for believing different things. How silly of us.

Why are you pretending that their argument is made in good faith? They just want people to beat up on, that's all they care about. They are the ones who caused the split with their Nazi horseshit, not us. Enough with the BoTh SiDeS bullshit.

So weird that a rapist would hang out with other rapists

In the end, collaborators still get the wall. No, it's not going to be different this time. No, you are not special. I don't know why this lesson needs to be taught over and over. They will still come for you in the end.

Ok, guy who blocked me. If you think this will get overturned in Texas, that overturning will be upheld in the fifth circuit, and then also be upheld by a SCOTUS that is more interested in its agenda than the law, I have seaside property in Nevada to sell you. Good luck with your delusions.

The Democratic Party forced their candidate of choice on its voters yet again and got completely demolished yet again. Maybe they will learn their lesson this time - that is, if we ever have an election again - but I doubt it. The Democratic leadership is more interested in talking than listening.
comment in response to post
Unfortunately, there's nothing to be done about this. It's going to happen, regardless of what we want. The Democrats forced their chosen candidate on the voters, yet again, and got demolished, yet again. Maybe they'll learn their lesson the 3rd time around - if we ever even have an election again.

The party of law and order is politicizing the law? Crazy.

Thanks for nothing, Do-Nothing Garland.
