Is the U.S. in a "high-level equilibrium trap"?

Brace yourself for a wave of misinformation about “incitement,” a term with a well-defined meaning in constitutional law that has absolutely no application to what appears on the basis of *everything we know* to be a single person’s decision to commit murder

Enemy of my enemy is my friend. Inevitably short lived when you have little overlap in ideals and principles (and have been at odds for decades). The emergent pairing never made sense to me.

Strawberries coming in great this year.

Can attest. Get yourself one of these.

we're stealing Flood the Zone tactics from Steve Bannon and we're using them to promote abundance and techno-optimism instead of fascism

Venkatesh was one of the first to exit Twitter. He tends to be correct about a lot of things. Being reminded of this post makes me a bit sad. It’s going to take a lot of work to rebuild out of the ashes.

hey. new or returning to bsky? trying to build a following here? how do you get interaction on posts? my suggestion is get in replies, interact with people, quote post things without dunking. ya that's also how you can find fights, but avoiding interaction gives you exactly that (no interaction)

turning a big dial taht says "Recession" on it and constantly looking back at the markets for approval like a contestant on the price is right

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

Interesting thought here. Leveraging AI for governance as a small state. At a minimum I think you could get an AI to manage concerns of a populace (intake, sort, etc) much better than mailing your congressional rep as your point of intake.

What saddens me about the fracturing of twitter is that it's one of the two anglophone social media that is actually upstream of creating cultural phenomena and communities (alongside TikTok). I made actual friends there. But now I have to ignore the occasional Nazi to use it

I spoke to a talented junior scientist who just got a good faculty job offer in the US and they told me “well I wouldn’t move to 1930s Germany either” so that’s how that’s going

lollllllll futurism.com/half-million...

Oh holy shit searching accounts actually shows people you follow at the top. Gd I wasn’t ready for that. Twitter is so f’d right now.

Do we have bookmarks over here yet?

Clean indoor air the kind of no-brainer, basic component of civil society that future generations will be aghast we neglected this long

hello new and returning bsky users! one of the things we have been working on recently is making it easier to build and log in to other apps, clients, and toys. here are a few examples 🧵

Oh look, past me was on point

Bluesky is funny because I can’t recall any other platform where its growth is explicitly tied to the collective hate for one person.

TIL someone made a fan zootopia comic about abortion.

There’s this sweet spot around 98-04/5 where pop punk was birthing emo and the separation wasn’t distinct yet.

Coming back to skeetin’ whenElon does dumb shit
