This is a good & fair point from @moorlandassoc.bsky.social . @rspb.bsky.social has clearly got plenty of funds & people to build & publish counts on their many reserves, yet they don’t publish them. Why not? Why the secrecy? I would be v. interested as I’m sure many would in the #data. #Birds

#Beaver Boy No. 6 (could be No. 9 from the group downstream) is very happy that the #RiverForth is up ~1.5m after a couple of days of rain upstream West of us. Can now easily access one of their favourite patches of Willow (they haven’t left many; used to be 8 trees there).

#Mayfly doing their dance over the East lawn … RiverForth is less than half a mile away so it is not completely madness. They always seem to do it at that spot each year. #Wagtails are very happy…

#Lapwings : On Right of train North, beside Anderstone with Lucker, there is a marshy area, where the #WinlawBurn passes. I think I saw Curlew to the North of the area. No idea whose land it is but wonderful to see. 👏👏#FirstBirdOfMyDay #Northumberland

#Hare Pairs have patch punch up. Started off with sweet & calm lawn couple 1. Then lawn couple 2 got a bit too close. Nose & ear twitching started. Agitation. Some lolloping but everyone getting closer. It all kicks off; jumping, thumping, a skedaddle to the finished daffs. Peace now? #Meiklewood

#Heron having a feast on fish coming up for the evening rise (seen some hawthorn hatch). Hunting from a favourite perch, on a tree stuck in the middle of the #RiverForth here, is one of the ones felled by the #beavers round the bend, the heron caught 6 fish. So much #insect life around the river.
