Maybe but it would certainly be a departure from his drafting and transaction history. For better or worse he likes proof of concept and production. Ace is a talented midrange shooter but everything else is extremely shaky. Very much an idea player still.

Yeah if Embiid’s done I think spending any more assets on the current team is a waste. If you’re trading either do it for a pick haul / prospects & try to rebuild after next season when you have heavy protections on your first & all of your other picks. You can’t survive a dead Supermax on the books

Similar concerns about Kon (athleticism) and VJ (handle / pull up shooting) but I think they can fit different roles while those things iron themselves out. Ace and his team will want him to be a star out the gate and it could be ugly.

I said this a few months ago but I’d rather be the second Ace team than the first. He feels like the classic second contract / team guy. Once it’s obvious his handle / self creation / decision making / passing isn’t good enough to be a NBA star and he becomes more of a role player.

VJ or Kon and if they decide to go wild card Tre Johnson is my guy. If they pick ace I’ll talk myself into it but I do think the red flags are fairly massive with him. I don’t care about fit. Not enough healthy / available talent for me to care about that.

When you’re a month away from the draft I wouldn’t read too much into anything but the Sixers probably aren’t showing their cards until the week of the draft when trades get more realistic
