That "reward" turned into "finish sending out all holds/rejections now that we've both finished our reads." 261 emails later... and we're all caught up! Now to go back through the holds and make our final decisions!

Apparently there's a new Deadpool game for VR, and they got Neil Patrick Harris to do the voice. Ryan Reynolds did a subsequent ad for them and I am slain. youtu.be/2WIhc9hjlTQ

Having completed all first reads (my amazing co-editor is finishing up her reads now), I'm "rewarding" myself by working on the Trollbreath Magazine Year One anthology while listening to my favorite Riot Grrrl station on Pandora. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti1l...

I want to start a band that is a singular version of another band. U1

I know having a venue hold your story exclusively sucks, but the number of people who ignored our "no simultaneous submissions" guideline our most recent open period really bothers me. No, it's not an "honest mistake" when you ignore a very clear rule 99.9% of submitters manage to follow.

After a one Friday break (so we could finish up the latest issue) Free Fiction Fridays have returned! Our first story from the summer issue is now free for anyone to read on our website.

Welcome to our first Free Fiction Friday of summer!!! Can you trust the dead with your mind? Can you trust the living with the truth? magazine.trollbreath.com/the-last-one...

High agency males? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Donnie and Ellen's days as male prostitutes are behind them. Who is going to pay for a ketamined-up dish of half-melted vanilla ice cream, or a badly aging prom queen in pancaked bronzer with a ball gag fetish? What? Oh, not that kind of agency....

The Smithereens opening for Squeeze. Really a tale of two bands going opposite directions at the time, but both great.

Alright AOC, any updates on the situation? (look at that smile) www.youtube.com/shorts/Esxyr...

Me for the last few hours

I see folks doing mid-year reviews of their published works to date. Mine is short... I only have one so far! I would be ever so happy if you read "Fox and Troll Bake a Cake," and, if you're a SFWA member, maybe consider adding it to the Nebula reading list. giganotosaurus.org/2025/02/01/f...

ICYMI, my new story, "Who Could Feel Haunted With Luck in Their Pocket?" is available in this issue, and should be free-to-read mid-August for their Free Fiction Fridays! Featuring a grandma, some guilt, and captive ghosts that bring luck to their holders... Thanks to anyone who gives it a read!

Down to less than 70 stories/poems to go in the queue to finish up our first reads. We'll be doing re-reads shortly after we finish and should have our final decisions for our 5th and 6th issues by the middle of June. Thanks for everyone's patience.

An incident here, an incident there, the temperature keeps rising.

Great. Donnie the Dimwit and his Cabal of Canker Sores will probably use this little island of delightful sea birds to start a war against Canada. Leave Our Puffins Alone (LOPA)!!!!

When I was an educator, I would teach that the passive voice lies, or at least gives cover to the perpetrator- this shit is why. See also "31 Palestinians are killed heading to a Gaza aid site".

As a child, it was always paper maps that folded up conveniently, but lacked sufficient details for all the cool side quests you might want to take. As an adult, DeLorme created the Maine Atlas and Gazetteer, which divided the state into 24 maps providing hella detail to find all the cool shit.

What's it like living on the coast of Maine? The Gulf of Maine gets its circulation from the cold Labrador current, not the Gulf stream. That makes the waters I can see from my living room a brisk 44 degrees Fahrenheit today. And the breeze is mostly from the south, off the water.

"The Pitt" is a top tier successor to shows like ER, and all the better for being on a streaming service so the realities of emergency care aren't censored. It's very graphic. Also well written and acted. Worth your time if you decide to get the HBO streaming service, whatever it's called today.

Our conversation this morning ended at "I won't milk a goddamned hippo," and I'm not going to tell you how we got there.

Welcome to the first day of June, and a new issue of Trollbreath Magazine! It's the start of Meteorological summer, as opposed to "official" summer when the solstice occurs. However you celebrate the season, do it with some fabulous short stories, poetry, and non-fiction! magazine.trollbreath.com

Issue 4 is live! magazine.trollbreath.com

There's nothing like diving into the slush pile this morning and the first story is the equivalent of "she breasted boobilly." I have nothing against erotica, but it's not what we publish, and what we get in our queue is badly written misogynistic trash fires. Just stop sending it, please.

Goodbye Hot Lips. Thanks for the amazing memories.

If you have a moment today or tomorrow, go pick a story, poem, or article out of the Spring issue and enjoy. There's some amazing work there by fabulous authors who deserve your kudos. And then buckle up... Issue 4, Summer 2025, drops in roughly 36 hours (12:01 AM UTC, June 1st)
