She was quite free with her money in later years - whether to family (Tom, Kate, Christine ) or others (rewilding, potential stained glass windows). Also she would change her will to keep them all on their toes....surprised there was much left tbh.

Surprising of Peggy not to inform her two children, but her choice.....*if* this charity is all above board.

And Fallon's flip comment and embarrassed apology is probably what she's had to put up with many times.

It will do soon!
The local chap goes off to South America every six months to taste and order his beans. That's his excuse, anyway.

American Tan tights.
Stationery.
Cycling Weekly magazine.
Nice local foodie stuff, plus cheap unbranded washing up liquid etc.
And lots of empty cardboard boxes piled by the door for whenever you need one.

Our village shop started selling coffee beans from a local roastery during lockdown, real lifesaver. Come to think of it, why isn't there an artisan coffee producer in Ambridge yet?#TheArchers

Indeed, and Fallon's clumsy fretting about trivia. Comes to something when Ruth is the sanest person in the episode.

Does Dr Malik know about Alice's drinking? Lucky that we have a proper doctor in the village again.

It did seem a bit of a heavy handed, formal interview for 'just' a short attention span (in a 4 year old!). Surely the nursey provides regular updates on children's progress anyway?

Imagine Joy taking your inside leg measurement. Better than Susan I guess.

So that she can say to the whole village "look everyone I've got a boyfriend!"

Discussing what? Peggy's missing millions, Martha's school readiness, the similarities between Ambridge and the England cricket team?

Also depends on what 'going to the funeral' entails. Expecting a 4yr old to sit silent on the front pew for 45m in a black dress would be bad....greeting the family, playing quietly at the back in the kids' area & joining in a few prayers before waving goodbye to great granny would probably be fine.

I get that this is a new and unsettling phase for Lilian, but unbridled grief? Surely a 77 year old must have rationalised the idea that her 100 year old mother would likely die at some point.

Yes but the team she was captaining yesterday wasn't Ambridge's league team was it? Just a bit of village fun so why all the stress.

So why was Hannah rabbiting on about relegation? Was she a tad confused?

Is this a serious league game or a Bank Holiday knockabout?

Indeed, but he's not alone (my OH is now enlightened). Well written scene to have him as the person asked.

A bit of public education interspersed with whatever Lilian's real problem is.

Just told my OH what it means, he said "they don't have them in the men's toilets"

Worst: Bert Horrobin.
Best: gosh that's tricky. Probably Lilian or Kate.

Didn't she offer Kirsty somewhere to live too (or am I mixing her up with Hayley?)

Same with Mrs Antrobus many years ago. She was "that dog woman" to quote Joe Grundy, but mellowed & became quite a favourite.

Ian. Workplace romance....

Me too. Ambridge always seemed a relatively serious club, winning/challenging for the local league (& made it to Lords once). But now it's full of over 70s & first-timers, half are women (unusual in local cricket with women's leagues now), and run by two characters with no playing experience at all.

Yes, good point.

I don't think it would be possible in that situation, I think you have to ensure someone has full capacity at the time of the event.

Yes to this. If they end up together, I hope it's a long way from Ambridge

Yes she's given away quite a bit over the years to the family, Christine's place in the Laurels plus projects like the rewilding - together with her own care home fees it would be no surprise if there wasn't much left.
