A worthy digital rerelease: addvibe.bandcamp.com/album/luv-ha... Addvibe - Luv & Happiness

Saw someone driving a cybertruck with decals/wrap touting it as a mobile ad platform, and I wonder what the net positive/negative effect is? On one hand, people notice an ad because it’s on a cybertruck. But on the other, they also notice it’s ON A CYBERTRUCK.

we have now swung around from police militarization (cops looking identical to soldiers) to police chuddification (cops looking like half-drunk proud boys in downtown Portland circa 2019)

Femi Kuti at Club Shelter/Vinyl NYC (1999 I guess). I think it was maybe his first US show? Timmy Regisford had been hammering “Beng Beng Beng” and “Truth Don Die” over the proceeding months, and the Shelter crowd was just so primed for this show. Truly awesome.

“The ripper, the master, the overlordian…” Overlordian is a very fine word choice of LL’s imho.

Doin’ the DJ dang Friday at the Uptown VFW with Jobot, Mutual Identities, and Medicinall for Housewerk’s 3rd Anniversary.

The key to so many of these dudes' reactionary politics is that they can never stop believing that the sorting mechanisms of meritocracy put them on top because they deserved it

something to be said about how these people view americans as inputs to be used up by capital

[Shelbyville Manhattan voice] “I tell you, I won’t stay in a party that robs governors of the right to sexually harass their aides!”

Drove through Edina today and passed a boutique around 50th & France called “Trill (True & Real)” and the cognitive dissonance of that name appearing *in that location* *for that kind of store* is weighing heavily on me.

In 2011, Minnesota closed down a charter school for being too close to a Muslim religious school. And a bunch of area conservatives spent years pearl-clutching over it even AFTER it was closed down. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarek_i...

I keep thinking there must be plenty of Republicans with real professional expertise, who run businesses and organizations, and recognize how dangerous it is to put nothing but the stupidest people in charge of decisions affecting lives and livelihoods. But I keep being wrong.

This is a criminal administration whose leaders need to be removed from office and tried for their crimes.

we are going to have to collectively decide, tip the scale towards righteousness, when we will physically fight back, together, anytime we witness these kidnappings. - The same way we would fight back if we witnessed another assault of a neighbor or loved one.

The “DEI is watering down our august meritocracy” folks have sure showed us.

Coalition building is not the same as pandering to people's worst bigotries in the hopes they'll like you.

Really can't be emphasized enough that Kamala Harris, like most Democrats, did not actually run on the defense of trans people in 2024. The real ask here is for Democratic candidates to join in attacking a minority population that is being persecuted by the current administration for votes.

If you let the executive deport people to a foreign gulag just by pronouncing the word “terrorism,” then expect to be called a “terrorist” soon yourself.

Gonna repeat myself here: The generation of leaders that got us into this mess will not be the ones to get us out of it. www.politico.com/news/magazin...

Only five votes on the Supreme Court for Article I of the Constitution of the United States bsky.app/profile/stev...

These absolute chumps… 😫

Utterly destroying any capacity of the state to help people so that it can be reduced to a military and and border cops to guard the wealth of oligarchs

“I am a king and my will is law” isn’t a clever distraction from what he’s doing, it’s the central underlying justification for everything he’s doing.

“The thing that I can’t get over is that the actual richest man in the world directed my fucking firing. I make $50k a year and work to keep drinking water safe. The richest man in the world decided that was an expense too great for the American taxpayer.”

Looking forward to Apple’s reboot of the 1984 commercial, where the runner comes in and just grabs a seat next to everyone else. “…and you’ll see why 2025 will be just like 1933.”

Googles response basically being “it’s not making things up, it’s just incapable of telling facts from made up bullshit” would have destroyed a product in the days before the economy was propped up by a thin framework of scams lashed together with investment capital

This 2018 piece by Aleksandar Hemon is almost too painful in its prescience to read right now lithub.com/fascism-is-n...

So apparently, two people making important decisions at the Office of Personnel Management are a 21 year-old and another that just graduated high school last fkn year. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...
