I'm sure it was a great day but I do gotta admit that my knowledge of those bands is waaaaay less than the first day lol. I know who Geldof is but haven't listened to his music, I know who Rory Gallagher is because I know too many guitar players, and The Cranberries is obvious

Incredibly cool day of music, extremely jealous. I NEEDED to know who the "among others" were and found this- www.setlist.fm/festival/199... Nitzer Ebb and PJ Harvey! Very cool

i tend to nibble at the edges of projects, trying to make sure i understand the various parts well enough, before i do one of two things -execute in one manic fell swoop -drop the project entirely never to think of it again except for when i'm beating myself up for abandoning so many projects

also billy sounds like a strangled cat on that cover, it put me off the original for years

I'll never deny that the US is a fundamentally racist country but there are literally thousands of years of examples of institutionalized racism from before the US ever existed. "Maybe" lmao
comment in response to post
are you seriously suggesting that the united states invented racism?

"Writing for the court, liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said the test had no basis in the text of Title VII or cases that have interpreted it. "We conclude that Title VII does not impose such a heightened standard on majority group plaintiffs," she wrote."

because the question that was being asked legally isn't the question you think was being asked legally.

they have ruled opposite of each other on dozens if not hundreds of cases. 9+0 means this was an easy decision legally speaking that you're simply refusing to look into outside of the misleading headline

no

that is a weird and dumb thing to see given their radically different approaches to jurisprudence. some might even call it racist, cuz they have almost nothing in common besides their skin color

I would gladly listen to either of you do a pod on the most underrated wide receivers, mostly so I could hear someone talking about Jakobi Meyers for once lol

I do intend to plug the audio into my preferred visual synthesizer eventually (Processing ftw) but I ain't there yet, it's hard to come up with that kind of energy but I'm trying real hard

cam skattebo was five when when calvin johnson entered the league and twelve when he retired. cam may have never touched a football before calvin retired.

I suspect it's a lotta people trying to cash in on theoretical equity gains and that "down 2% by the end of the year" is gonna be too low and estimate
comment in response to post
anecdotally in my area it does feel like there are more for sale signs than usual. anecdotally in my peer group though, no one who doesn't already own a home is trying to buy. given how much house prices have risen in the past five years, easy to see a state where a lotta this inventory goes unsold

they're awesome, until/unless you look at how much the tools cost to make them yourself o_o

my preferred terms would actually be for the loser of the bet to delete their social media account, wanna circle around to this in a few years?
comment in response to post
i wish i could make a bet with you on that, because it's an extremely stupid thing to say and there should be some sort of downside to saying it besides mockery from randos on the internet.

there are a so many people in this thread and others talking about how this is making the dems look pathetic that i think it's somewhat odd you think it might result in the opposite
comment in response to post
before that "calling them weird" was the thing that got to them, how'd that work out. we could run through a few iterations of it if you'd like, but given the current situation i think it's obvious none of those actually matters
