It’s important to note that every dollar the NIH distributes for basic research returns between $2 and $3 in economic activity, on average. It’s one of the best investments we can make as a nation. Only Donald Trump and his idiotic minions don’t understand this.

An example that immediately springs to mind is a long-known and serious problem that was brought to the forefront during the pandemic. Pulse oximetry is not as accurate for people of color. And this is dangerous and unacceptable. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

One of the motions — on DEI — had 21.3% in opposition. I’d consider them some of the more conservative ones.
