I never saw Western support for Ukraine as a proxy war. That is more a Russian propaganda talking point, imo.

In his book Politics on the Edge, Rory Stewart referred to David Cameron's government as an "elective dictatorship". His account of how things were being run is credible. This, the failure of both Cameron and May afterwards to ignore the warnings of Russian interference, remain unforgivable.

China on USA strike on Iran:
"The actions of the US seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law"
China on Russian strikes on Ukraine:
Silence.
I'm so sorry Kate. I keep on trying for you.

This may be one way to move the mountain. Certainly a good try.

As a Brit outside looking in, finding & persuading enough Republican senators to move an impeachment motion forwards stands a better chance than all other options that I can see. It also makes it likely Rep senators will not tolerate a replacement (JD?) acting same or worse.
How to move a mountain?

It's important to highlight double standards every time, and especially this by China, which even a five-year-old child would get.
China could end the war in Ukraine tomorrow, literally, if it dropped its support & "unlimited" friendship with Russia, without even firing a gun.

Anyone spot a problem here?

No evidence? I'm puzzled by people making such claims.
Why would Iran have large stocks of 60% enriched U-235 when nuclear power generators need only 5% enriched U-235?
And why, if enrichment prog is for peaceful purposes, do they make IAEA moitoring difficult?

I'm no expert on this, but it begs the question, if we only need 5% enriched Uranium-235 for nuclear power generation, and the IAEA say Iran has large quantities of 60% enriched U-235, already enough to make a fissile bomb, what other uses for this are there?

That's what I thought too.

If that's the case, then why hasn't Trump told Netanyahu to shut it?
Or could this be a smoke screen so 47 can back out of action in the ME? I doubt there're many people outside that circle who believe Iran isn't enriching uranium sufficient to manufacture a bomb.

I think everyone should by now realise that 'ceasefire' is just a word bandied around for appearances and has no other meaning for Putin or his friend, Trump.

Thank you, Nigella, for supporting Ukrainians. I'll definitely get hold of this book and will share it with family. Personal stories are so important, and by what you say, this one should bring home to us all the absurdity of Russia's barbaric war of terror in Ukraine.

So basically, they're snakes disguised as cute furry animals. Thanks for the explanation. It's good to know where snakes hide.
