What the heck did St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Antiqua and Barbuda and Dominica do? I’ve been to 3. Nothing threatening of note. Alexander Hamilton was born in Nevis.

Stares in North Carolinian. 🤬 Unfortunately we have had direct experience with hurricane season since—forever. Even 8 hours inland.

Just stop. Trump was a Clear and Present Danger and the media—NPR included—didn’t cover it that way.

Peter you really need some introspection. It isn’t strange. Mass media glossed over Trumps clear mental deficits while over covering HRC’s emails and Biden’s age. Now we have a Manchurian president and media are still droning on about Biden.

Uhh. In 1986 after my freshman year and my university didn’t allow freshmen to have cars.

This is the same take they had on George Floyd. “He had prior convictions. He wasn’t a good person” to justify his death. It’s always been about denying due process for “those people”.

The stock market is a forward looking expectation of economic performance by the aggregate of companies in the index. Any given company’s price is a reflection of future performance expectations as measured by cash flow.

A big DCF machine. And it expects cash flow will be lower.

Go learn about “bracket creep”. Look at the JCT scoring of the 2017 bill for an example. The marginal rate is a distraction. Report back.

There’s no statute of limitations for tax fraud. And the clock on the statute doesn’t start running until the return is filed. So. . .eventually it will go badly.

You aren’t missing anything. The best description I’ve read is “I have a trade deficit with my grocery store”

Can’t penalize the president. But could sanction the pilots who don’t turn around for a court order and the agents and their supervisors who kidnap people.

Yes and this will last longer unless the tariffs are reversed. The market reaction to the pandemic was from uncertainty. There’s not much uncertainty about what happens with tariffs. We’ve done this before.
comment in response to
post
That stupid was mitigated by vaccines and a return to normalcy. Markets are a giant DCF machine. Tariffs immediately reduce cash flows and suppress demand. The knock on effect of tariffs further reduce future cash flows, which is why the markets are tanking.

In some states citizens are within their rights to use firearms to defend themselves against people who: 1. Don’t identify themselves and 2. Attempt to apprehend them—also known as kidnapping. Eventually something will go very badly.

I would think that a US visitor would have to go through some type of Customs/Immigration to get into Greenland. Turn them around.

Well. . .”explaining” would mean he would tell us that he’s intentionally going to crash the economy so the billionaire class can buy up assets at a discount. See 2008. They didn’t get it all in 2008 and they want another cut

Jail the pilots who didn’t turn around. Make it so no pilot will fly these flights.

I work for a large bank. I can’t plug in a USB drive to my laptop without getting in a lot of trouble. My outbound email is scanned for personally identifiable information. There are so many things to freak out about I’m having a hard time picking one.

I’d rather it be illegal for insurance companies to be publicly traded and for them to “re mutualize” if we have to have them. But I’d really rather get rid of health premiums and increase my taxes.

NC native here. This jacka$$ lives in the town where I grew up. What’s really happening in WNC based on discussions with storm victims: right wing militias came in and pushed FEMA out, delaying aid. In one family’s case their reoccupancy inspection post flood and repairs was delayed by weeks.
