Freak thunderstorm knocked down my corn, obliterated my greenhouse, and washed away the dirt over my potatoes. Today was a five alarm farm fire. Worked non-stop from 4 to 10 pm to mitigate the damage. Homesteading doesn’t have crop insurance. Hopefully my work will save my crops for my family.

I grew this lunch. #LifeGoals

5 gallons of picked beans makes 10 quarts. So it’s a 2 to 1 ratio.

I’m super excited that my oldest boy turns 18 in three months. We will have a great time filling out his Selective Service registration. Thanks MAGA! /sarcasm /fuck you MAGA

I hate him with the fire of a billion suns.

Success! I freed up about 60% of the bottom shelf for canned goods. Probably time to thin out the old collection. Whooo boy that’s a lotta baseball cards…

I’m shuffling baseball card boxes in the Card Shack to maximize space usage on my shelves. I hope to free up the bottom row that I can use for canned goods from my garden.

I picked a five gallon bucket of string beans tonight. They are snapped and getting ready for canning. Any guesses on how many quarts this will make?

A friend of mine was using my cattle trailer to load some pigs and they weren’t cooperating. He bought two cases of MBI and gave one to the pigs to get them drunk so they’d load. They drank their case of beer and loaded. My friend gave me the other case for using my trailer. Thanks…

Tilled my snap beans, peas, okra, tomatoes, corn, and my future sweet potato patch.

This is who runs this account.

I dug up my first potato plant this evening and all of this came from one plant… I planted 380 plants. Whelp.

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and processed 132 chickens. It’s time to enjoy the fan, my garden, a beer, and a breathtaking view.

I have an absurd amount of baseball cards…
