Sadly, I've never been. We had plans to visit Chandigarh in early 2020, but COVID went viral and that was that. My Dad grew up in what is now Pakistan and my Hindi is VERY Urdu-influence. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable in Modi's RSS theocracy

My father, his parents and their parents were all born on the subcontinent. A DNA test showed that my great-grandmother would have been 100% South Asian, so I'm guessing she's the wizened ayah in some OLD family photos. Her daughter looked like all the elderly Panjabi women I see daily here🙂

If it's a Hindi Drama about peas, the dialogue will be indistinct
"pea" in Hindi is "mutter" 😀

It turns out that handwriting words of one language in the script of another can stump even Google. It missed the tiny marker indicating the "r" in "obrigado" and its "detect language" was utterly stumped, simply spelling out the characters it recognised. A rare victory for wetware! 😆

You got the script right 🙂

The SCRIPT is devanagari, the phrase is in 2 languages. We were staying with some dear friends. He's lusophone, she's Hispanic. Writing by hand is very difficult for me even in Roman, I never do in devanagari. So to show my gratitude I wrote "Obrigado mucho" on their notes board, in devanagari

And I absolutely LOVED that while the setup looked like a love triangle, the male lead was simply the prop to explain the relationship between the REAL leads, the two women. That's why I called him a McGuffin

1/2 Not wicked, but plausibly unlikeable. And her co-lead is similar. I found myself sometimes siding with one, sometimes with the other, in the end, with neither. But they did learn to understand each other better and to recognise how much their lives were defined by their interactions

You're probably right. It's more a case of my own idiosyncracies jaundicing me.

Yeah Imperfect Us is a real standout for me. This is my MDL review. The two leads have both very recently given birth, so I'm hoping they can become friends IRL 😀

Oh, it wasn't him that I reacted to - for me the "found family" dynamic was forced and jarring. It made my skin crawl, actually. Then again, my older sister says that "dysfunctional family" is tautology, so that probably explains my reaction somewhat. 😂

IDKY she stopped singing, but I'm glad she focused on acting, going on to get an MA in screen acting in London. "Imperfect Us" reunited her with her ML from "Love Contract" & her love rival from ISWAK/TKA. The 2 women are the leads, inseparable enemies, not frenemies, and they ROCK! 11/10 for me

I have no qualms watching a Drama for the STP. I REwatched #TWDrama "Love, Timeless" 4X, each time watching only the STP arc. I found the OTP relationship iffy, so just FFd them. Ready to do the same here. I've only finished one of this ML's Dramas, Skate into Love. Dropped #GoAhead after 2, yrch!

Spooky, possums! I am still watching for now because of side characters - I like the leads' Mums, and the "stalker glasses" meet cute between nerd and Nina grabbed me straight away

She is said to be competent but still needs his smugly condescending advice gained from his vast experience working in a completely different field. The reason is almost explicitly stated as being "you're a girl" It's 😡🤬 as hell & one of the most common reasons I drop #CDramas #MyLoverFriend

AMATEUR! The great thing about having CP is that I can ALWAYS play the gimp card with typos "hey '3' is next to '4' on the keyboard, my spastic hand slipped - DON'T BE ABLEIST" 🤣😆

I've just realised that one of my favourites from my series on old OSTs does TECHNICALLY count. THIS is the primary recurring theme OST of the #JDrama "Bara No Nai Hanaya" and there's ZERO Japanese in it. Which made it easier for #KDrama Personal Taste to nick it😂

It's a GREAT word, and sadly underused. So "arigato gozaimashta" to Hana Yori Dango for providing the seed that keeps on giving😀

I broke my list of old #KDrama #TWDrama & #JDrama OSTs into 4 to avoid A LOOOONG scroll, but it's defeated my intent. I'd hoped it might help some find new Dramas to watch, but the easiest ones to find are all on the pages AFTER 1. BoF is on the last page

Thanks! My favourite sign-language #JDrama is a short one, but incredibly sweet. The song & video are Inspired by a real-life couple featured at the end, and the female lead in the video married one of the band members a couple of years ago. Pure brony crack! 😍😍

It's like a more extreme example of how I'm glad that I read Ender's Game (liked it) and Speaker for the Dead (LOVED IT!) before I found out what kind of a person OSC is

Ah, THAT I did not know. I agree 1000%. I'm actually very glad I didn't know that when watching Forest of Secrets. I would have struggled to watch it at all

Ha! The Old OST series I've nearly finished writing includes my version - Kwon Yul, who creeps me out to this day. I'm sure Messrs Lee and Kwon are receiving round the clock therapy to cope with our antipathy

Rather than inflict my current qawwali craving on anyone TOO much, just one more. Unlike Teri Mehfil, this one was shot in colour. Being the 70s, one might almost wish it weren't 😆 Another fave of mine though, no matter how garish the palette

Yes, he is a stock villain, and if I rewatched it now, he wouldn't seem unusual. But barely two months into my #KDrama experience, he was a bit of a shock. The character also served as a yardstick for me in #ForestofSecrets S1, where Lee Geung Young's SUPERB villain was his exact antithesis😍

The only niggle I had with #CityHall, which could be a caveat/heads-up for any #KDrama newbies who try it, was the extreme shoutiness of the villainous Shouty McShoutFace played by Choi Il Hwa. Not a shock to #KDrama vets, but as a newbie when I watched it, it was a bit cartoonishly OTT

D'Oh! I work nights and waking up sleep-deprived means that neither neuron was working at its full (troglodytic) capacity.
OR, maybe they WERE working and plotted to lure you in to checking out #CityHall - mwahaha!😈 *
*(Occam's Razor makes this very unlikely)

For picking Capital Scandal, you win 👍😁
Kim Go Eun's character was 2FL in that #KDrama the other 4 all FL in the Dramas shown. Simple 😂

Yep. I've been writing a series about pre-2010 OSTs - #KDrama, #JDrama #TWDrama . Here's what I did with the #BoF image. VERY mature, I know, but I literally hate looking at him.

No, Boys Over Flowers - I call the 2nd lead "Rib-breaker" because he did. "Accidentally" breaking his then-pregnant partners ribs with a 'misplaced' kickboxing practice

Yep, I think that would work well. I used to hope that DB10 would end up on staff, but his coaching career never really took flight.

Yes, it's a blow for Arsenal, but I can't help but be happy for Cuesta. The youngest head coach/ manager in any of the five major European leagues just 29. That's remarkable. I wish him all the best. And hope that Arsenal can find someone even nearly as good to replace him. Eidevall need not apply
