"because they have no means to be proactive to get out now."
Yes. Those "with means" enjoy far greater mobility, and far more options. Indeed, a number of Americans own more than one home; but they are still the exception to the norm.

You speak for so many of America's elderly today.

Their message couldn't be more clear, given their actions to gut USAID, FEMA, and HHS is next.
They don't care about the common life of man, woman, child, or animal.
The next pandemic is now a certainty.
When Malcom Nance wrote, "They Want To Kill Americans (2022)," he wasn't kidding.

Newsom showed considerable spine in LA. Or some unlikely, complete unknown, too, might arise, but the leader we are looking for may require more... time.
In the meantime, it has always been up to us - We the people - to stand against all kings, fascists, tyrants, and dictators.

We may need to invoke a new, ever more enlightened version of our Founding Fathers... It can be done.
But first, "Off with his head and let's clean House!"

The climate crisis doesn't concern the morbidly rich.
They believe they are safe from the coming ravages.
The fact this could have been prevented - but wasn't - is telling.

The only silver lining in this disappointing news is that this might oblige some folk to rise up and demand that God hit the reset button.
Invoke another flood.
And start out fresh with a more spiritually evolved being. A third eye might help, too.

For conservative politicians (mostly GOP) to admit to a climate crisis would have required far more effective and sustained regulation of the fossil fuel industry.
Alas, climate deniers don't care about the health of people, let alone animals, rivers, oceans, the air, or the planet itself.

I agree we can't wait. I agree the last election likely has lessons still to be learned.
We will still have free elections (i.e., citizens will vote), but there's no guarantee they will be fair; so every legal challenge and judicial means MUST be pressed to ensure both free AND fair elections.

I share your same sentiment and observations.

The U.S. Capitol police operate under the legislative branch, hence, are responsible for protecting Congressional members.
I can imagine a coming confrontation between a member of Congress, the Capitol Police - who serve to protect them, and masked ICE agents, who lack a judicial warrant.

👍 That's both generous and thoughtful.
I see an ever increasing period of sleep deprivation in your future, however. You may definitely wish to consider calling for student volunteers to assist you in your selfless and noble cause.

47 has no clue what it is to be an American.
American soldiers are American citizens, too, who enjoy Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and rights that they took an oath to serve and protect, both foreign and domestic.
The only right that interests 47 is a self-appointed right to lord over us.

There are thousands of small cities who have been revitalized and rebuilt by immigrants; look at upstate NY Syracuse and Utica are two that come to mind. They are all over the country like the city where they are eating the dogs etc

Ravings of a mad king.
Of course, nothing lumpty dumpty says matters nearly so much as what don jong ugh does, if only because Stephen Miller's actions always speak louder than TACO's words...

Don Jong Ugh is no doubt stroking himself to be the world's hottest trifecta - king, autocrat, and dictator all rolled into one.
Of course, in the days ahead, he may prove it was all just a fascist fever dream.
