Ukraine is waging a just war of defence against an imperial aggressor. The war waged by the Israeli government on the other hand has escalated beyond measure.
But in each case more complex understanding of the impact of historical trauma is needed to bring about a better future.

Wait, I just realised that the only way your argument makes sense is if you think EU ports do their checks on site and you’re defining inward checks as only being done at the border and not at an internal point. Which is not the case for any of the major ports in Europe. Is that what you’re arguing?

“We know that there are no inward checks because the UK government tell us.”
Proceeds to link source that clearly says checks are happening

There’s nothing specifically different either in the monitoring system or the standards in the UK compared to the rest of the EU. You can’t complain about trust being lost when you’re the one peddling lies.

So, according to your own links, checks do happen. You can criticise them for being leaky, but are they leakier than other EU countries? You can read the EU notifications data, the vast majority are not border rejects, so they’re picked up inside the country. webgate.ec.europa.eu/rasff-window...

This is bullshit and if you believe it I'm actually sorry for you.

Have you ever tried to import something in the UK? I collect plants as a hobby. If you genuinely think the UK does not have checks, you are a fool.

This doesn't contradict his arguments. And I'm not quite sure what is supposed to address.

Not whacky at all, there’s a whole branch of international relations theory that agrees with it. It’s supposedly why India and Pakistan have not had major wars going.

Honestly that letter reads like hot garbage. “We want to meet you but only if journalists are present so that we can make a scene. Also, why do you spend so much time on social media? And why are you a bully and a liar. We expect you to take these questions seriously”. 🤡

If you have a purchase order number, you can invoice them using it. If they’re paying you in any other way, it’s down to their internal process 🥲

Within 5 days, protest grew so much that about 4% of the population was out on the streets every night. In the bitter cold of early February in Romania. So the government had to back down.
And I’m supposed to feel sorry for Americans?

I still remember when the streets of Bucharest filled up in a matter of minutes, at midnight, in the January cold, when the government tried to assert its influence over Justice in Romania.

Putin would never do this so blatantly. You might fall out of a window in Russia but in public everyone’s polite

Isn’t that because number of pupils is projected to decline? So a per capita basis there isn’t a decrease?

Great news but I hope it comes on top of existing research funding, not just redirecting funding to it.

So it was what he said, and who he said it against, not that he was causing a disturbance. And you don’t think that’s against freedom of speech. Smh this is embarrassing, it’s like you have a humiliation fetish. I will ignore this now, I’ve seen better arguments made by random word generators.

If that’s how you interpret that section, then you qualify for the function illiteracy definition

He wasn’t arrested for burning a book. He was arrested for burning a specific book. Nobody would have arrested him if he burned a Jane Austin novel. You’re trying to be condescending but it just comes out as stupid.

My European mind can’t comprehend why the UK doesn’t have an anti-discrimination body or a public ombudsman dealing with these types of cases, which can act on its own initiative in reaction to her statements.

You’re doing exactly the same thing she’s highlighting. Might as well be referring to you in the initial quote.

Fair, I think this would be a much better response. The initial reaction goes straight into the pattern you are highlighting, of accusing them of heresy to shut down the argument.

I mean… if there is performative communication, it’s coming from you. Just say you made a mistake. Oops. It happens. Explain what you really meant. This makes you look even more of a fool than the actual quote.
