and looking at this again, in case there's any doubt, no, my cats are indoor cats because I'm not an animal abuser. he passed very unexpectedly at the animal hospital during a routine procedure.

I just looked at the account on Twitter, it's clearly a parody account lying about numbers in an attempt to be funny (which is not working) πŸ€£πŸ™„ I assume this is a real shower somewhere but that price is totally made up

(me to another passer by) shhhhhhhh they're talking about important doberman things. it's beyond our understanding. just know that nature is healing 😌

Yeah! Somebody raised that (which had not occurred to me) which is a nice thought and something I'll keep in mind

I'm talking about like, the chan board dipshits who push "no kink at pride" to a new group of Puriteens every year. I just feel like the "LBG without the T" morons would be very susceptible to that :p

I do appreciate folks' thoughts on this, part of airing this was a desire for other perspectives and I do feel like I got context that I find useful Also obviously Pride in 2025 is intense given the challenges we all face so I ALSO appreciate people having been Normal in replies to this πŸ™πŸ€£

I appreciate both the additional context presented here (especially the trans context which I would basically never have heard otherwise) and the organization (I am very busy and I appreciate cleanly organized bullet points 😌)

That's fair, I appreciate the perspective

I don't disagree with either point here, but a) I'm fucking sick of managing cis male resentment at the peril of the collapse of society, and b) as gays who remember the 80s & 90s I think it's our duty to center to today's queers that the threat Pride pushes back on is to our COLLECTIVE survival
comment in response to post
To be more clear, it's less "why does this distinction exist" and more "if I see you using ONLY this flag I'm at least going to wonder if you're a Pick Me gay" because the opposition play right now is to invite and foster exactly that thinking, and we ignore that at our peril

At the same time, as an Ancient Gay I am never going to step away from presenting a united front, and considering the WILD gap in queer experiences between even millennials and gen Z, I hope it's understandable why I feel the urgent need to raise it right now πŸ€ͺ
comment in response to post
That feels like a perhaps overly-charitable read but I will make space for it as a possibility πŸ€” I would have a lot of suggestions for decentering gay men from Pride before I ever got to "here's your own flag to call even more attention to yourself" but tbh, I could see it.

Like represent yourself how you want to represent yourself, but you have GOT to be aware that our ***GROUP*** unity is our strength, and there is a very specific and aggressive movement by neocons to defeat us BY dividing us. Careful you're not playing directly into it
