In Finland, as a young conscript, I was told I not only had the right, but the obligation to refuse illegal orders.
I was also told refusing direct orders may result with me in the brig, facing the court, or worse.
Even at 19 I understood that responsibility doesn’t always come neatly packaged.

Labour really can claim to be the party of 'fiscal responsibility' right now, certainly compared to the wildly unfunded promises of the Tories and Reform

Could a Pro-EU candidate for leader pull the Tories out of this mire, do they have one?
The polls would favour them and Labour would be pushed in a direction pleasing to their supporters.
Do the Conservative members have the wisdom?

Everyone buys into the dream "I could be me" a bit like the resistance by many to the closure of wealth gaps policy, "but it could be me" ....hmm one day.
