The paper, North American bird declines are greatest where species are most abundant, analyzes 495 North American bird species and shows that species we’ve long considered common, like American Robins and Mallards, are declining.

I’m going to start bringing this up around younger parents. I’m a bit mystified because it felt like it was on the upswing when my kids were young. I read to them thru 5th grade! The books were so well done I loved it.

Periodically I study BlueSky’s features because they are evolving, and my last effort got me into some feeds. I enjoy looking thru my naturalist and science based feeds on the top bar instead of “discover.”
