My father was a misogynist who hated Hilary Rodham Clinton specifically because she kept the Rodham. That changed as he got to know her. I was thrilled when he became a huge fan when she ran against Trump.
The name change thing reminded me of that wonderful transition. It helps me keep some hope.

I am just one Canadian, but I have completely changed my habits. I will do whatever it takes to avoid putting 1$ into the US. I don’t see that changing until at least 2028.

I find that hard to believe. I will not set foot in the US until Trump is gone and many Canadians I might have considered Trumpish have told me they’re selling their condos and going to Mexico and Costa Rica instead.
