This is just so, so embarrassing to every American with a 6th grade education and to the country’s eternal shame.

No serious country facilitates the targeting of political opposition. Only failed states do that.

Wow, well done Dodgers! Nice to see some all-American backbone.

Watching these videos of slotkin’s questioning, she is the first person in congress I’ve seen talking to and about these clowns the way every single one should have been from the day trump’s gang took office. It’s unfortunate it’s taken this long but nice to finally see some American backbone.

This is him trying to frame the narrative as him somehow being in charge of the decisions. He likely was told the bombs are coming and is trying to appear like he is in on the actual decisions rather than being weak and left out of Israeli planning.

“Dog jokes aside”? Is that a joke? What was the Post even doing here? She is demonstrably boastful about being sadistic. “Yeah, sure, we can all easily make a lay-up insult about shooting her dog in the face, but take that out of the equation and if you squint your eyes, on paper she looks ok!”

Trump got elected in no small part by this kind of sanewashing (here by the Times). They appear to have learned nothing.

Totally agree! His self-styled image as a deal maker has always been nonsense. Threatening, bullying, and refusing to honour agreements is not “deal making.” That the media keep parroting his BS framing remains infuriating, all the more for how transparently phoney it all is.

Yup, literally all those things. You forgot to mention liar, cheater, criminal, grifter, etc etc, but I appreciate there’s a character limit to these posts.

Hey Mark, Thanks for the reminder that there are sane and decent Americans still. I’m worried about Trump’s fascist threats on us up here, but also feel so bad for all the decent Americans experiencing their own country senselessly destroyed from within.

100%. Trump’s obsession with trolling means he puts the most demonstrably unsuitable, incompetent people into positions in order to troll basic civility. So the whole “administration” becomes a bewildered clown car. De Niro said it best: fascists all look funny.

My third key distinction: truth-seeking vs. refuge-seeking behavior in journalism. Truth-seeking needs no definition. It is finding out what actually happened— and letting us know. Refuge-seeking is telling the story in a way that protects against anticipated attacks... 10/

Decent headline from the NYTimes (for a change). Direct, to the point, no euphemisms…

It’s so he can lean on it. He’s very rarely not either sitting or leaning on something these days for his photo ops.
