They’ll just impound the funding at this point if congress overrides and repurpose it. Fire the admirals that are pushing back. Vought is lickin his chomps

Last put. That’s why @nathantankus.bsky.social reporting was so shocking. The BFS is just the check writer for the obligations made. Instead of trying to go after requirements owners and the other mechanics of moving money they went straight to the piping and tried to infer if payments were proper

Gets handed to the agencies where contracting officers with warrants obligate the government to disburse funding from treasury. I’ve simplified this greatly but I don’t see how a crisis can be manufactured out this
comment in response to post
Recissions take simple majority. Honestly it’s all kinda beside the point anyways. When obligation authority dries up for places the money just stays in treasury where it was. There is no actual disbursement of funding when a budget is passed. It is obligation authority that gets

Isn’t this like a 16-17 year old kid you are flexin on?

This is to set up one of the kids. I don’t know why this isn’t obvious. They are starting fund raising and grifting now off of such an emotional topic and tribal issue. No need to change merch when one of them become anointed and run. It stays in the news, the trumpers buy stuff to own the libs, etc

Didn’t Rumsfeld think a bunch of operators and a healthy does of Robert Kagan air power would be enough to take Iraq? I am not sure repub FP folks have a firm grasp on what to do. endless cycle for military side too. An ourboros of atrategic bullshit… I think reason is no pressure to be creative

I think how we treat people that don’t ace the arbitrary purity tests is exactly telling how the system works. Right now it ain’t

It’s weird as fuck and now I sound like a Qanon loony. What is sticking out of his jacket in the photo

What the actual fuck is sticking out of his jacket and why does his finger taper????
comment in response to post
The photo isn’t real. Look at the fingers on the left.

If only there was a method… a process… to determine the facts in a legal way
comment in response to post
Not defending, but that was the context I interpreted the comments. I think the error is assuming how unsophisticated the electorate is (on both sides), and assuming people can’t be mad as fuck about multiple topics
comment in response to post
Better to focus messaging on something that is tangible ie kitchen table issues than “arcane” arguments on fundamental constitution issues.
comment in response to post
The *nuance* I don’t think appreciated is the circumstances don’t really matter in the public square. The *actual* determination of facts hasn’t occurred because of the deprivation of due process. He perceives the electorate will make opinions based on the headlines and who can scream the loudest.

I think you are referring to Newsom comments?

The FAR and DFAR have needed an overhaul for *a while*… this is obvious to someone who works in procurement. Whether it will be done right remains to be seen

I didn’t write she was naive. The hot takes here and elsewhere intimate she didn’t have agency in this. I presume she understood the implications of what she wrote in the medium she did in the environment we are in. I am just putting out, from my perspective, this was a likely outcome.
comment in response to post
I am not debating the message. I am just pointing out that it would be naive to think she didn’t know the risk through the specific medium.
comment in response to post
There were other ways to handle this than a traceable email that could be forwarded/screenshot, etc, and the language is specifically inflammatory. Being that senior; they would know what the likely outcome was.

Are you account for the fact that they were under a shorter CR bill, than they are now? They are given cash allocations to spend based on the period of CR so you would agencies stretching dollars

The tweet pulling the nom was titled “Führer, Elise”

I think lot of liberals have trouble accepting a couple things: this is still a deeply conservative (and biased) country, this electorate is primed for anger/change because how much life is hard (no one cares we had best recovery in world), and DJT just has that political factor that wins votes

“Computer, generate an art house movie in the vein of The Last Showgirl and the Wrestler based on this image. The story line roughly should follow the descent into madness of a prior right leaning tv network host who tries and unsuccessfully runs for political positions.“

He is being purposefully ignorant. A lapse in appropriations is not a trigger or a mechanism to RIF. Essential vs non essential is a bunch of malarkey as well— just means who works and doesn’t. Also lots of people still work during shut down and get paid normally because of nature of appr funding

I am still puzzled by what difference it makes. It’s here; we can’t go back in time

It’s just like the five bullets as management technique. You are a lazy manager if you need employees to summarize their work weekly with five bullets

You are as sloppy as your hoodies

It’s a total misreading of how RIFs work
comment in response to post
They already know what workers are excepted and prioritized for RIFs. Also our senators seem to conflate the RIF process with lapses in appropriations. THATS NOT A REASON THEY CAN RIF
