Advocating for transit (rural and urban), medium density housing and mixed urban use development. Worried about the climate change emergency.

This is a BRT in the suburbs of Busan, South Korea. 2 middle lanes are dedicated to buses and the 2 outer lanes are for general motorised traffic. The current layout for 22nd Street W in @cityofsaskatoon.bsky.social Saskatoon is of a similar layout (With the exception of the BRT/ Bus lanes).

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Aq4.... It would be interesting if we could build these coaches here as stationary units so that people could "experience" European style high tech trains before travelling to Europe. Get your feet wet type of thing.

Why is building a pipeline to connect Ontario and Quebec a left vs right issue. Protecting the environment should not be partisan. It is just common sense. Both the premieres and the federal government are proposing while the provinces are literally burning.

This is an idea for developing Westgate plaza in #Saskatoon based upon the assumption that there will be a zone change to CS1 in the near future. (AI generated). Having a stairwell which is not heated or cooled but is protected from the elements i.e rain and snow should save on energy costs.

The intersection of Laurier Drive, the Freshco entrance to Conferation Mall, the Civic centre and the walk in clinic could be fixed by applying this strategy by @streetcraft.bsky.social #Saskatoon www.youtube.com/shorts/EXTbB...

@cityofsaskatoon.bsky.social seems to talk the big talk about sweeping zone changes in order to accommodate a lot more housing. But are they really? The plan seems to be very watered down. saskatoon.substack.com/p/saskatoon-...

Housing needs based upon 2021 data for the @cityofsaskatoon.bsky.social (Core housing need)

A multiplex does not have to be boring.

Centre running bus lanes in Busan, South Korea. The car/ personal vehicle traffic on either side running smoothly. There is no reason why this cannot be prevalent in North America.

If an absolutely massive stroad in Busan, South Korea is capable of having protected bike lanes what is stopping North American cities from having the same?

There should be enough affordable housing close to transit. There should also be short term rentals close to transit. We should have hotels/ hostels motels and BnBs. We should have homeless shelters We cannot afford to have one or the other. All of these types of shelters can co-exist.

I would rather splurge on this over a car any day.

Getting rid of waste in Busan, South Korea. It details when, what will be picked up. Recyclables, general waste, organic waste, etc. It does not matter whether you live in a house or apartment, you seem to have to use the same bag. Would this work in @cityofsaskatoon.bsky.social?

Re-zoning alone does not solve the housing crisis. toronto.cityhallwatcher.com/p/torontos-m...

Saskatoon and other municipalities need to build more affordable housing units in the form of multi-family housing. (Pictures from South Korea)

Is managing growth an indirect way of saying reducing the amount and type of homes being built.

Meet BYD's competitor. The Nissan Sakura. With the talk of Trump wanting to destroy the auto sector in North America we should start building these in Ontario or Manitoba.

Like the mini lunches you can have while in Japan. All available at convenience stores.

I can still imagine a future where it would there would be a seamless transfer between Saskatoon Transit and the future STC.

I can imagine the possibilities on Idyllwild Drive in Saskatoon. More mixed use and medium density housing.

Bike infrastructure in Barcelona.

Dedicated bus and bike lanes in the Vake neighbourhood in @tbilisi.bsky.social.

This is literally the type of bike paths we need in Canada. No to Fossil fuels. Yes to fixing climate change.

What are the consequences of privatizing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Would it create a situation where Americans will have higher foreclosures on property? I presume it works similar to the CMHC in Canada.

Bike lanes on the outskirts of Kutaisi, Georgia.

Sunset in Kutaisi, Georgia.

Could this be the future of 22nd Street West in Saskatoon? #Kutaisi

These types of buildings should be approved in Saskatoon. Cross ventilation is important.

Missing middle housing that I have found in #Kutaisi over the last couple of days. Some of these might work in Saskatoon.
