The way ICE treats migrants is a form of terror hence the comparison. Not saying they are the same but fear it causes is; seeing a bunch of men with guns and that flag on their uniform then being dragged away is terror.

Also saying shit like “you’re giving Trump just what he wants!” Discourse is just fucking stupid. That’s like saying the Jews who fought back are just doing what the Nazis want. Not everything is perfectly optimal for press purposes. Solidarity with LA.

its has to be so offensive to Ukrainians that a mayor of NYC is just gonna fly in to do a press junket and leave. Zohran had the right answer, why are you asking the mayor which country he is gonna visit first. The only real answer is Turkey but thats besides the point.

Is it the right to bear arms or a quiet understanding that the state will not protect you? After reading the worlds tiniest amount on black panthers and black gun ownership I kinda lean towards the latter. Preventing terror if even possible only hurts the personal defense industry.

To add. I say to sell guns because every time there is a school shooting or terror attack sales skyrocket. Yes it could be the same pecker in the woods who hordes guns anyways but it's more of a statement of our country.

more about the future of the surveillance and terror state. Terror prevention will be like a charity thing palantir has in the future but it's just mercenaries.

9/11 was awesome for the national security and surveillance state. they got all new toys and powers and with the way tech has backed them up this just seems like an evolution of previous admins. its less about the 22 yo being in charge of some grant funded org and...

The former Homeland Security official said the decision “means that the department founded to prevent terrorism in the United States no longer prioritizes preventing terrorism in the United States.”
Why would they? It's a pretty great opportunity to legalize authoritarian practices and sell guns.

Ok here's the real shit. More real shit.
"The department recommended eliminating the threat-prevention grant program, explaining that it “does not align with DHS priorities.”"
Legalized fascist terror. Oh a militia is planning a march on pride? sorry that doesn't align with immigration torture.

I mean like... the right wing doest care about fertility clinic or planned parenthood bombing for that matter so questioning what are they gonna about this is just wishful yet ignorant thinking. they say its based.

"Attacks continued in May with the apparent car bombing of a fertility clinic in California. The suspected assailant, the only fatality, left a screed detailing violent beliefs against life"

but come on. dudes in this admin are just fascist. I'm probably more of a real apparatchik. this other guy stinks.

A member of a Communist apparat.
An unquestioningly loyal subordinate, especially of a political leader or organization.
A communist who was a member of the administrative system of a communist party.
god that agency is so ridden with anticommunism. clearly the second definition is being used here

“The big story here is the undermining of democratic institutions,” a former Homeland Security official said. “Who’s going to volunteer to be the next civil servant if they think their supervisor is an apparatchik?”

"Critics of (his) appointment stress that their anger isn’t directed at an aspiring politico ... The problem ... is the administration’s seemingly cavalier treatment of an office that was funding work on urgent national security concerns."
It's for Palantir isn't it? He's there for agency to die.

"On Instagram, Fugate traced his political awakening to nine years ago, when as a 13-year-old “in a generation deprived of hope, opportunity, and happiness, I saw in one man the capacity for real and lasting change: Donald Trump.”"
I was playing kingdom hearts at 13 having a good time.

Yeah this is just DOGE shit.
"The once-bustling office of around 80 employees now has fewer than 20, former staffers say." followed by
"One is that the Trump ... rewarded a Gen Z campaign worker with a resume-boosting title that comes with little real power because the office is in shambles."

"The office’s mission has changed overnight, with a pivot away from focusing on domestic extremism, especially far-right movements."
I wonder why. It's also disappointing to know the previous admin had a 'focus' on far right groups but kinda did nothing.

This is why the daily beast sucks. They start with the gardener shit which is just classist to a degree but the real reason he got the job is...
"The White House appointed Fugate, a former Trump campaign worker who interned at the hard-right Heritage Foundation"
He's a lackey.

"The inexperienced 22-year-old reportedly tasked by Donald Trump with tackling U.S. extremism was working as a neighborhood gardener just five years ago "
Fucking downgrade of a job if you ask me. Should have stayed a gardener but if you're a gen-aZi I can see the appeal of doing "counter terror".

Missed those posts but people forget Elons first foray into politics was the privatization of NASA under Mr Obama.

This gave me a good laugh not in a cruel sense but in a “fucking hell yeah” sense. That’s exactly how it should be.
