Three constitutional amendments were nullified in half the country for decades after the Civil War. This took place with the assent of several Presidents. It was enforced through minoritarian vetos made possible by constitutional structures still with us. Use what you have, don’t overrate it.

If there was one thing I wish everyone knew about online harassment, it’s that it’s deeply enmeshed in people’s IRL lives. The perpetrators are often known to the victim IRL. Or they interact with people the victim sees IRL. A lot of the danger of what happens online is how easily it moves offline.

"Literacy tests" weren't about determining if an applicant could read at X grade level. They enabled local registrars -- some illiterate themselves -- to turn away any applicant they wanted by pronouncing them ignorant. So ask yourself: Who would a MAGA registrar see as "informed about issues"?
