Would love to see how the top supporters spin this

It would be poetic to crash out of CL and finish 3rd / 4th because of the hubris of this club and I'm absolutely here for it

And loll Martinelli proving to be the dead weight that he is

And say I say that the captain hooked off... Says a lot

I'm in shock... Need to gather my thoughts

Have that sinking feeling that it's going to be all downhill from here but thoroughly enjoyed the first half. Lots of observations as well which I'll try and touch up on once this ends

For me this fixture last year was great because I genuinely felt we had a great chance to win and advance in our first year of return in a while, against opponents that were a bogey historically Madrid is a different vibe altogether, more about soaking it in and just letting things happen

It's just so good to see a common sense good coach like Tuchel. Let Rice take corners because he's obviously very good, establish good relations with Ben White who is probably England's best RB. Give a start to MLS who is ENG's best LB and he scores. Simple things that fool Southgate could not do.

Raya went from one of the best at the start of the season to clownish with his penalty and FK positionings. Weird.

Calm the fuck down mate

Convinced that Arteta is thinking about his next job. Why would you take off Rice, Calafiori and Saliba? This is a complete farce

I mean I don't want to pile on but at some point you stop blaming the coach and system and take responsibility for your output especially as the captain. People said the same thing about Martinelli initially but have come around to realize. The same is the case with Ode as well, he's peaked I feel

Sometimes you know when top flight careers have ended. Goodbye Sterling. Also the difference in officiating btw EPL and UCL is just staggering. Fuck the PGMOL and fuck Oliver

Also 1 of the reasons that I like Arteta is coz he's just sensible and takes decisions based on common sense which even fans can get. After that penalty miss by Odegaard in FA Cup, only logical that Jorginho steps up today. Should've done so against ManU as well and we are alive in that comp as well

I mean screw winning the league I don't even care... There has to be an official stance from the club and it has to be very very very strong

... Overall it was comfortable but I do wish a couple of players feel free to shoot with their wrong foot. It really would be revolutionary in terms of the impact #arsenal

...I kinda worry of a similar fate befalling Saka but we will see - The officiating is so sensible. Mistakes happen but there is so much more willingness to just use common sense and not let the moment be about them. The assistant clearly made a wrong call and the ref just overturns it no fuss...

...But you can clearly see that he has dropped massively physically. He tries the right stuff it just doesn't come off. Reminiscent of elite players who break through very young but fade away well before what you'd normally expect. Rooney, Fabregas, et al come to mind.....

I don't know which position is the future for MLS, but if he wants LB it's his. Feels a bit like how Bellerin broke out and Debuchy - who was a new signing and long term replacement for Sagna but injured - his #Arsenal career never got going after that
comment in response to post
Speaking about Arsenal careers ending I think this might be the beginning of the end for the manager here. He may well go on to win big stuff elsewhere with more luck but can't see it happening with us. The "project" needs a reset and people will not have patience, probably Arteta himself included

When Jorginho was on the pitch why the fuck did Odegaard take it. And when Jorginho was actually needed for penalties he had to be subbed off by force. You can't make this shit up
comment in response to post
- Major squad turnover needed again and big trophies look as far away as they have ever been, feels all too boring and dull after just 2 exciting years, not sure if I have an appetite for another "project" or "process" - big players like Saliba and Saka will rethink their next contracts
comment in response to post
- no consistent sustained attacking strategy week on week, it's all on and off - no creativity if Odegaard not fit and he does not even score anymore, has he peaked? - Martinelli I feel has peaked and fallen, virtually finished at this level
