Hi. I'm not all the way here from Twitter. Would love to find the epi, science, long covid communities. So far the few people I have followed are those who posted handles on FB. So msg if this Nick's unfamiliar.

If you are deleting social media ~48 before your flight to the US, *it is already too late.*

- They were waiting for me when I got off the plane - They knew (or it felt like they knew) everything about me - I had cleaned up my online presence expecting ad hoc digital sweeps; I was not prepared for their sophistication - Sophistication almost certainly facilitated by Palantir

Jesus the juxtaposition of a forced military parade, a political assassination tipline, and then mounted cops firing on protesters. Insanity

OTOH it seems like police having weapons in Salt Lake City kept the gunman from shooting more people. Though I've read a couple articles and I'm still not completely sure quite how things went down.

Some contrast can be helpful to put that figure into perspective: bsky.app/profile/muel...

Official estimates for Chicago were 15,000, but I just looked at a picture of them shutting down the loop.

Shouldn’t the LAPD now arrest all the people that arrested the senator, and Noem? They don’t have presidential immunity.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 he’s on the ground and handcuffed as a sitting senator in his own state for asking a question. He’s in a city he represents

Ironically one of the cases where it really is true is tax filing: The only reason it’s not easy to file your taxes online directly with the IRS is massive lobbying by Intuit & H&R Block. Which was finally getting fixed, and then Trump killed it.

Indeed. Los Angeles is the current problem.

Join a mass protest in your area on that day, June 14. Here is the one for Las Vegas: www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve...

Also don't forget the hundreds of babies born each day with HIV for lack of a dirt cheap dose of AZT during labor. Half of those babies will not see their 2nd birthday. GWB did a lot of bad, but one extremely good thing he did was PEPFAR, and these asses killed it.

TRUMP'S dismantling of USAID is estimated to have already resulted in 300,000 deaths, mostly from starvation. The USA farmers are screwed as they have no more markets, neither via exports, nor USAID exports. The cost of keeping those 300K alive would've been a small fraction of Trump's parade costs.

what's this about end july?

wait, no, not 50 rallies. 204 events. On a Friday. Partnership American Opposition, 50501 Veterans, Indivisible.

When I was looking for the Meidas I saw that a local fox affiliate in Atlanta had a full length stream. (Had been dismayed at only 10kish views on the Unite4Vets; as of 7p EDT, 181k views on Meidas.) 50 satellite rallies around the country, too.

Found the Meidas livestream with a LOT more views than the Unite 4 Veterans and I suspect it's way better quality than the Unite 4 Veterans stream. Still have enjoyed listening to the Dropkick Murphy's set just now despite some of the skips. www.youtube.com/live/G3lFuGk...

....not the same people organizing, tho - Saturday is RF along with A/O. Later that day is World Pride huge parade, and Sunday a World Pride protest march

I think a lot of people refuse to accept their mortality. Granted also I don't think anybody expected the house to be this close this year. But yes I have similar feelings about RBG

Imagine if we hadn't had three dems die in office. This is another consequence of having such an ancient caucus.

It is kind of amazing that the rules committee is still going. And I very much appreciate that it's so far 500 amendments the Dems have tried to put through.
