www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pde... No Good to Cry was a great song, but just a regional hit in the Boston area in May/June 1967, when I lived there and became immersed in the Red Sox “Impossible Dream.” Frontman Al Anderson went on to bigger things with NRBQ.

responsiblestatecraft.org/ukraine-batt... This strikes me as an accurate account of the state of the conflict — and its diplomatic implications — in the battlefield in Ukraine.

braveneweurope.com/geoffrey-rob... This is a great summary, by an eminent historian, of the events leading to war on the Eastern Front and the Red Army’s civilization saving destruction of the Wehrmacht. To this I recommend reading a very moving and great novel, Life and Fate, by Vasily Grossman.

www.opednews.com/articles/Sev... Given that much nonsense is being propagated by Trump about America’s role in World War II, I’m republishing my article, written ten years ago, about the decisive role played by the Soviet Union’s greatest generation in defeating the Nazis. The facts still stand.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgoX... The Times reported today that Nino Tempo died earlier this month at the age of 90. Deep Purple is one of my favorites.

youtu.be/GxfrJ5smAU8 This is a sophisticated analysis, but I was struck and amused to learn that Putin has spoken menacingly and mockingly to Trump. She characterized Trump’s diplomacy as “amateur hour.”

So touching! I worked on Bonnie & Clyde when I was 16 & Gene was so kind to “the kid” on the set. Gracious man & so funny! I also sat all day talking to a young actor who was very nervous about his 1 scene in the movie…Gene Wilder. Both so lovely & sadly both now gone. #RIPGeneHackman💔💔💔💔💔

The Revolution will be AI-icized

Elon Musk’s notice to all federal employees informs them that they must tell him what they accomplished last week. Failure to do so will be considered a resignation. Call his bluff! Everyone! Refuse his illegal order, obey his resignation interpretation and walk out. Everyone!

Trump’s assertion that “He who saves his Country does not violate the law,” tells me that his felony convictions weigh far more heavily on him than I imagined. So does his decision to hang his mug shot on the wall. Any close reader of “Crime and Punishment “ can see that he is wracked by guilt. Ha!

Why did Trump have himself put in charge of the Kennedy Center? Because he knows that the educated and cultured people who patronize it despise him. So he seeks revenge. And he knows that his being in charge of the center will destroy it.

Today the editors have lifted the paywall; anyone can read this piece gratis. It's my first overt political propaganda--the first of my series about the systems that undergird our daily lives, which are always one generation of inattention away from catastrophe. If this interests, please pass it on.

@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com: In the Oval Office, Elon Musk shows the world Trump ‘is not the boss of me’

Nothing said by Trump & Musk in the Oval is true. They don’t have any proof of what they said.
