Trump didn’t order CMPD to pepper spray protestors in Charlotte, Trump’s Marines didn’t open up with tear gas in LA, Trump didn’t tell cops in Savannah to detain a protestor for wearing a medical mask. It’s worth asking why electeds in those heavily blue places won’t answer for any of that.

In my Copaganda book, I tell the story of how pro-police scholars and journalists have worked to conceal from the public estimates of private police--from forces at universities like Harvard, to much of downtown Detroit, to DC metro, to smaller stuff like this shooter.

My kid couldn’t get home because you stopped all bus and train service around DTLA.
Also, either you have no control over LAPD and LASD or you’re complicit in their violent attacks on peaceful Los Angelenos.

One woman here in West Hollywood at this protest is carrying a sign of her nephew, Pablo Miqueyas, who was detained by federal immigration officials just a few days ago.

Proud Boys cannot even show up in about 90% of LA neighborhoods without a massive police escort because they know they'll get aired the fuck out by the locals.
The only place the Proud Boys can rally is DTLA next to LAPD h.q., SaMo by the beach with SMPD protection, and Beverly Hills.

Except they didn't just want to take control, they wanted to *keep* control. And Rove and Cheney understood that meant playing nice in public as much as possible.
