I thought that was the Scooby Doo/Roland Rat crossover we'd all been waiting for.

Never misses, this album. Never misses.

I'd dig into this further, but at the moment I'm outside making permanent love to the nuclear age.

..over the sound of a burning car", while Bernard Butler, the finest guitar player of his generation, having produced a world beating guitar part, grits his teeth, sighs, says "fine", and asks his manager for David McAlmont's number.

Ha! We’ve been waiting for some comms from HR for the last couple of days and they’ve been silent…

Welbeck is a class act and would have been brilliant for Arsenal had his body (and possibly the Arsenal medical staff) not let him down.

I thought the first line of Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" went "Last night I dreamt of some dago" rather than "San Pedro". Ten years later I was quite the laughing stock when I said to a group of friends that I thought it was quite racist.

I like them but I do acknowledge they’re often ridden by people who don’t ride bikes much in cities and therefore make very poor decisions.

I'm happy I can go back to liking the guy. Disliking him felt like hard work.

Context I guess. This bloke was from Wycombe but he was talking about West Indian cricket, and rivalries between islands. So it sort of worked. But yeah, clunky.

I ended up asking someone “what’s your heritage” which is such a BlueSky thing to say and made me a little bit sick in my mouth, but I couldn’t think of anything else.

That whole thing struck me as a bunch of American Democrats talking to themselves as if the world revolved around them.

CS Lewis for me. Devoured the Narnia books when I was about 11, would find the characters too snotty and the imagery too heavy handed to go near these days. Probably my loss.

True but at least he’s working for it, or at least providing something in exchange. The real problem is the people who take that amount every day in interest, rent or other unearned growth in wealth.

If it weren’t for people on Twitter offering nuanced takes and proper statistics during Covid I genuinely think I would have lost my mind.

He would have been good in Eternals. Cut through a lot of the nonsense.

Is he as short as he seems?

Not sure taking the piss out of a woman on the basis of how she looks is a good idea.

In this week’s issue, Dan achieves his long-dreamt of aim of a 25p levy on each Cow Pie to offset the carbon impact, in exchange for tougher benefit sanctions.

As long as the people in charge of them don’t make them expensive, slow and unreliable then you’re laughing.

Yes. Nobody should be allowed to enjoy memories however inconsequential.

I burst out laughing in the middle of a moderately crowded office at the words “Horse Wanking Lab”

The experience of following football for the last 25 years makes me believe this can't be the genuine, community focused, social good that it seems to be at first glance. Can't for the life of me work out what the angle is though.

You might be right, but because of who he is and what he’s supposed to represent I thought it was one of the most shocking political speeches I’ve heard for some time.
comment in response to post
I don’t read political theory so in a sane world I should have no idea who he is, but his ideas get brought up quite regularly in the Guardian and treated like some kind of eye opening radical new way of looking at life.

The frustrating thing is, the overwhelming majority of the public know this, whether they’re prepared to admit it or not. But an arbitrary number needs to come down, so here we are.

Did Arsenal lose because PSG are really good, or does the fact that their fans complained about two sendings off at the beginning of the season mean the team have got some sort of mental block?

Does Cordoba count? Capital of Islamic Spain and population of 500,000 at a time when most European cities had a fraction of that number? I don’t recall it being destroyed as such

(I think it would be better if people did walk, btw, I just don’t think you should be a dick to people who don’t)
