Ours is all hanging from loops of string on cup hooks over the cellar stairs.

I know they filmed one sequence on Berrylands parade because they needed shops on a slope and that bit was easy to close off because of the railway bridge and station at the bottom leading to a small lane .
Surbiton station was practically stock for a certain kind of sitcom with its 1920s frontage

They did do a little bit in the Surbiton/Berrylands area and also some in Esher as well IIRC. What was actually filmed in Surbiton was Three Up Two Down and Fresh Fields. Kingston was often used for The Bill.

I have been frequently told that Surbiton was made up just for The Good Life

That one took most of the attachments from the old one and was still going strong when she stopped weekly cake making in the pandemic because with the charity shop she worked at and the library closed she had no one to bake for.

My mum had Kenwood mixers. She replaced the one I remembered from childhood (so 60s vintage or earlier) sometime in the 90s.

It's the same baby as in Space Babies and The Story And The Engine. No way she's a 20thC human.

The porch is a later add-on. Inside is the original door with a large panel overhead but no side panels. The living room and front bedrooms still have the original hammered glass panels as modeled here by the #FuzzyRebelAlliance

It's a mid 1920s semi but on quite a steep drop on one side. That's a six foot gate. The cellar is exploiting the amount it's built up to match the house next door which is on the level. We're the only place left on the street with original glass.

Would you believe we found that in the cellar when we bought the place?
