28 Years Later is a very good film that avoids the cheap pandering of most legacy sequels. The cast are excellent and the second half is very moving. It also captures a very particular type of Swedish dickhead very well.

Those Italians know how to make proper cinema.

We just watched "The Running Man" for Bootleg, and the closing credits had a lighter waving romantic rock song that had absolutely nothing to do with the carnage that we had just witnessed. That's proper blockbuster cinema.

Dear God, that show is back? It must be a sign of middle-age that I'm so rubbish of keeping track of fresh content.

28 Days stands up very well indeed. It's excellent cast and setpieces help create a fine horror movie that also has some emotional depth. The finale of our Cillian taking out a pack of British soldiers now plays as an enjoyable dry run for "The Wind That Shakes the Barley'.

It has fantastic extras. An entire alternative third act that is fully storyboarded and narrated by Danny Boyle for example.

I imagine that Bluesky rats are less of a problem since it's such a smaller site. Although who would want to find out the hard way?

Make the most of it Ro. Which is to say, I hope that you are watching a beloved comfort movie.

Me too. It looks like a rare legacy sequel that has some actual artistic integrity. Plus it looks cool and has a strong cast. Fingers crossed that the first two do well enough to get our Cillian time to shine in the proposed third film.

It would be. But I'd be surprised if a wannabe blockbuster would go for a downbeat 70's style ending. Still, you never know. There is room for a more faithful adaption since this movie ditched so much material.
