I posted several weeks ago about a distressing immigration raid at the Centre where I am a Trustee. My MP has extracted information from the Home Office. Do write to your MP if something worries you. They can really help.

A corrupt court.

The mayors and municipal leaders at today’s Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference are ready to build — housing, transit, and a stronger country. Canada’s new government is ready to build with them.

Delighted to be sharing a stage with Dr Valentina Bold at the Mitchell Library, Glasgow, on 31 July as we discuss ‘The Long Shadow of Scottish Gothic’ in an Aye Write pop-up event. See you there if you can make it…!💙📚

THE EDMONTON OILERS HAVE MADE IT BACK TO THE STANLEY CUP FINAL 🏆

Welcomed a great group of students from Georgetown, Ontario, to my office on Parliament Hill yesterday. These kids have big ideas for Canada. I’m working hard every day to deliver for them.

Canada welcomes the U.S. Court of International Trade’s decision on the United States’ tariffs. It confirmed what we’ve always held: that the American tariffs against Canadian goods are unlawful and unjustified.

Canadians elected this new government with a strong mandate: to bring down costs and help you get ahead. That work starts with a tax cut for the middle class, taking effect on July 1.

Have made the Helensburgh Advertiser. My work here is done…😉

Narrator: They are not considering the offer.

RFK Jr. is reportedly going to forbid government scientists from publishing in the world’s most respected medical journals — the Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, etc. It’s going to take decades to repair the damage done by this administration.

People need people around them

Colleagues, I'm honored to be part of Dr. Nicole A. Cooke's inaugural and critically necessary course, "History of Black Librarianship," and thrilled to be in good company as we explore Black Librarian Futures. If you've enrolled in the course, I'm looking forward to seeing & talking with you!

reputable medical journals keep saying that RFK and his pro-disease friends are full of shit and so naturally they must be shunned www.politico.com/news/2025/05...

This simpleminded clown has obviously been told that the "Golden Dome System," he already announced, can't happen without Canada's cooperation, a country that he has given thousands of reasons to loathe him. Donald is smart that way.

Where I’d rather be. 🍋 🌊

King Charles III: It reminds us the true north is indeed strong and free.

Wow. Tesla sales in Europe halved. I’ve never seen such a self inflicted wound to a brand.

Gotta love Bono in this new interview praising Canada for rejecting Poilievre the populist and electing the thoughtful, intelligent & competent Carney. “51 reasons to love Canada,” indeed. Poilievre is reviled and Carney is revered inside & outside of this great country. 🇨🇦 (Part 2 in thread below)

Trump is going to lose in court

The best of Canada was on display this afternoon at Lansdowne Park.   Proud to accompany Their Majesties around Ottawa and show them what makes our country strong: our heritage, our diversity, and our people.

Grateful to have an audience with His Majesty King Charles III this afternoon. Tomorrow, His Majesty will deliver the Speech from the Throne, nearly 70 years after Canada’s Sovereign first opened Parliament. It is an historic honour that matches the weight of our times.

Tomorrow I’m returning to a place I call home. Having had the privilege of playing the central role in its opening production some 35 years ago (& many roles since), I shall once again start rehearsals on a new play, ‘Through It All Together’ @LeedsPlayhouse Thank you, Leeds. 🙌

Canadians are honoured to welcome Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Canada. Today’s historic visit is a reminder of the bond between Canada and the Crown — one forged over generations, shaped by shared histories, and grounded in common values

And the US President played golf.....

‘They say, We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning.’ —Archibald MacLeish Remembering the fallen this Memorial Day, we can consider our own duty to strive so that our lives and our country are worthy of the price they paid.

AND Harvard will not bend the knee.

Last night Russia attacked a European capital with ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones. Today the story barely registers in international news headlines. Western normalization and acceptance of Russian atrocities in Ukraine is what makes them possible.

Too beautiful not to share. Posted by Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew. #cdnpoli #mbpoli

Canada 🍁 Beautiful video of our amazing country. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEFf...

Good news for the liberties of the people and Constitutional rather than dictatorial American government:

Those who commit their life to public service deserve to retire with dignity and security. That’s why I just signed a bill to boost pensions for Minnesota teachers, police officers, and firefighters.

Not for nothing, but when any party leader puts almost their entire caucus in cabinet or “shadow cabinet”, they’re doing so to protect their own leadership. They’re doing it because the proverbial knives are already out, their leadership is at risk, keep friends close but enemies closer. #ableg

A Remarkable Story….

One minute in Kyiv I continue sharing these moments with you to show Kyiv's beauty and strength. Stop me when you get bored.

Nepean, I’m honoured to serve you as your Member of Parliament.

I had a great phone call with Prime Minister Donald Tusk — a valued NATO ally and strong partner in security. We share a clear ambition to build on the ties between Canada and Poland, deepening our cooperation on energy, trade, collective defence.
