It was an easy assumption, âsquabble upâ & âlutherâ were the two pop-friendly songs on the album, but Iâm proud of myself for calling it đ

âRockinâ Down the Highwayâ (the hit that never was) & âJesus Is Just Alrightâ are classics too and âWhite Sunâ is an underrated gem, the harmonies on that song are on point.

This album is rather unremarkable & inessential compared to their later works, but still an enjoyable listen. If you're into low-key country rock, I recommend giving it a listen.
favs: "Feelin' Down Farther", "Greenwood Creek", "The Master"
worst: "Growin' a Little Each Day"

this Mavis Staples record has the 2nd best version of âSon of a Preacher Manâ Iâve heard (after Dustyâs). The Otis Redding covers are great too!

I started to cool on him not long after The Incredible True Story and jumped off the hype train completely when the Suicide Hotline song came out.
Under Pressure is still really good tho! Itâs been years since Iâve played it in full, I forgot how good it is.

Every single from Rhythm Nation is at least a 9/10 in my opinion. My favourite album era in pop music history, or at least top 3!

Really good film, action packed, weird as fuck and even funny in parts. Essential viewing if you want to see Nicolas Cage sing âLove Me Tenderâ.
