Assignment for WH Press room: “The CDC says that women who get COVID involuntarily abort the child they carry. Will the president talk with RFK jr about his policy to increase stillbirth? Does the president care about the life of the unborn child?”

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. youtu.be/g3BOysI3g90

All of these comments should just start with, “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Republican Party….” If there are sane Republicans left - and I think there are - they need to choose between brand damage, saying, “but not me,” and silence. Make them choose.

Yes, yes you did. It’s heartbreaking how well that holds up. I also keep this bookmarked and read it monthly, as an invocation to engaging with others online: www.theverge.com/21276897/fak...

It’s a loss of moral ambiguity that would have been welcome in our social media age of hero/villain dichotomy. By keeping her secrets, he is neither hero nor villain, but father. Someone has to be left to support their daughter - to honor her mother’s memory, to wait for the selfishness to wear off

The hate on the “all gender” bathroom always confuses me. I’m a cisgender male, old, white, and just kind of want to know the etiquette of bathrooms. Is this one for me? Thanks for the sign. I just need to pee (I’m old) and don’t want to walk into the wrong one.

Out of Spec reviews looked at the new Model Y and said, “[in the US market] it just needs to not offend.” 💯 The engineers did their job - the product itself is good. So if the product doesn’t offend. So what could it be?… 🤔 I won’t say that Elon’s the damage is permanent, but it is gangrenous.

When investors say, “He needs to get back to work at Tesla,” they want good stock, not good cars. His job is to hype the company, promise the future (again), and stand for Sandy Munro’s lavish praise. People’s identity is tied up in Tesla investing and they want another hit of the good stuff, baby!

RD says power comes from rules and tradition. Weird. Jesus was challenged by rule keeping pharisees to name the greatest commandment. He didn’t list the equivalent of Latin Mass or birth control, he said “love.” I would recommend all of Matthew 22 as a balm. Love and sacrifice matter.

Sorry. It sucks. I’m old enough to remember when there were more than five companies. It was a jungle, but it meant there were tons of niches. Little shops - including a little company called Google taking on Alta Vista - allowed a rich set of opportunities. We could have that again. Empower Labor.

💯 I could feel the carpet from my childhood family room as you were singing. Dad’s sleeping in. I have the TV to myself.

It’ll be different this time, baby. I promise. Just be cool while I talk to the nice police officer. Besides, where you gonna go? That House at the end of Pennsylvania Ave isn’t going to look out for you.

War Games (and Terminator) taught a generation that you never give over control of the button. LLMs don’t need the buttons. They just ask us to do it. Ain’t AI grand? Everyone’s an expert. www.theverge.com/news/642620/...

RJ Scaringe sat down with Nilay Patel on the Vergecast to talk through Rivian. The Cybertruck had to come up. This exchange: NP: You haven’t shot into a meeting room and been like, “This triangle’s going to kill us”? RJ: No. www.theverge.com/23908667/riv...

It’s a heartbreaker. How many employees, how much labor, has the mad king put at risk? The carelessness is breathtaking.

What’s its use case? Is this a thing you commute in? Do one charge getaways in? Does it family?

Thank goodness they didn’t mess with the initials. I can still call it “BSOD.”

I can’t wait to buy this used in 6 years. By then I’ll be old enough to leave the minivan life but still young enough to explore the great outdoors.

Maybe stated in the positive: you could buy from a company whose CEO made statements on tariffs (Ford). Or from a company pushing EV platforms forward (Hyundai/Kia). Battery technology (BMW). A unionized plant in an anti-union state (VW).

Agree. Maybe a feature request for the app developers?
