I apologise. Itās highly unfair to criticise someone on the grounds of something theyāve never said, done or advocated.

Timothy Snyder shares memes indicating that heās an enthusiastic fascist puncher? OK. I hadnāt seen that. Now I understand a little better why youād call him a coward.

Oh right. Iāve never formed the impression that āliberalā is synonymous with āfascist puncherā.

Cool. I donāt see what that has to do with cowardice.

If they believe theyāre in danger, then flight is a rational response. Perhaps āmisguidedā would have been a more apt term than āgutless cowardsā. In your analysis, surely your complaint is that theyāve overestimating the danger rather than displaying cowardice.

āThey're (Snyder etc) gonna flee and leave their country to the fascists.ā - This seems like strong language if, as you now suggest, there isnāt any real danger to āleave their country toā. š¤·š¼āāļø

Itās cute that people imagine this isnāt going to end with death squads, disappearances, defenestrations etc. The check and balances are failing and will fail altogether very soon.

Are voters still relevant? Your future elections in the US are going to be Putin-style sham affairs, arenāt they?

That was one of the intended effects, presumably.

I donāt see that happening. America has surrendered. Itās done and dusted.

Can you image what Musk will do with all the money he is gong to make by looting the public purse in plain view?

I donāt think there are any unproblematic platforms. Bluesky is funded by libertarians with MAGA ties and sympathies. Perhaps they are harvesting everything said here to be used later for something that wonāt be good.

Itās becoming ludicrous for European countries to think of the USA as an ally.

It was. Given to us by our friends at a top manufacturer of cutting equipment for the food industry. Lovely with thin potatoes, garlic etc.

As an outsider, my assumption is a sizeable contingent of Americans have somehow come to love (their) guns more than they love the idea of children being safe. They may like the second idea. But they like guns more, surely.

I am so pleased that our smallish cities here in Catalonia (Girona, Tarragona, Vic, Ripoll etc.) are not (yet?) being sterilised in this way.
