This is reprehensible. You'll never encourage more women to have babies if they know that they can't get lifesaving care after a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or other medical emergency. Such policy reduces pregnant women to disposable incubators.

Suspect it is not incompetence but very deliberate. Killing off the oldest and weakest reduces money spent on SS/Medicare/Medicaid while increasing transfer of wealth to heirs, which all benefits the economy. Expect another pandemic soon.
